The other list you mentioned is indeed an "artificial island of communication". When I tried to twice, I was not allowed to. When two different common members of this list and that list tried to forward my reply to a public mail there by Sri K.N. Rao, they too were apparently blocked. Only Rohini Ranjan's original forwarding of my original mail was allowed, possibly by mistake! Once K.N. Rao replied to that mail, I never got a chance to make my point. Later, a gentleman wondered why Narasimha Rao cannot join the list and debate (rather than others forwarding his mail). The list admin did not have to decency to tell him that I was blocked though I tried to twice. What's more, Sri K.N. Rao responded to that mail saying it was better if I did not join the list. For God's sake, the main point I made was a genuine one. When Sri K.N. Rao himself acknowledged in his book that he learnt a particular technique from "an old pandit", how can he claim exclusive rights over it? Yes, indeed Sri Rao seems to want an "artificial island of communication", going by his mail saying it was better if I did not join that list. And he got one! What was he afraid of? He probably wants a place where people just listen to him with admiration and don't trouble him with intelligent questions. So much for the self-professed scientific spirit. Now, however, do NOT use a plural. What do you mean by "artificial islandS of communication"? This list is no island. Everybody, including Sri K.N. Rao, is welcome to join this list. As long as the discussion sticks to astrology, we welcome anybody. Fella, had this list too been an "island" like that other list, your mail singing the praises of K.N. Rao and another list would not have made it here!! This is not the first time you sang the praises of K.N. Rao here. This list belongs to SJC and we dismiss many of Rao's teachings as they clash with those of our tradition. Still, you were not blocked! So, dude, don't call us an island. Having said that, you should have the decency to not engage in promoting other lists here. It is fair to promote that list here, if that list too allows you to promote this list there. When that list blatantly blocks a lot of uncomfortable mails, please please have to decency to stop advertizing them here. > I am writing about some other list here because there are some birlliant > participants in this list, and in "jyotish-list", who will benefit from > being members of both discussion forums.> > love,> Siva.
