Ramadas ji : Why I was not drawn to my Ishta-Devata during AK dasha?

Dear Hari,

Those are very interesting questions indeed :)

Nethra means eyes, dosha - I'm sure you know it, it means some kind

of defect/deficiency. The spiritual medium for the goddess told this

to me when I was 11. The spiritual medium is not me :) I remember

that it was a middle-aged woman who I went to visit at a far-away

place from Chennai with my parents. She said I have this dosha and

gave the lemons and asked me to do something with it for a week or

so, and give it at her temple at Tiruverkadu and get new ones again

to do something, and so forth. I only vaguely remember this and even

the repeated renewal of lemons is something I learnt through my

grandmother since she said this goddess prescribes this to be the

most common remedy/practice to be observed for anything regarding

doshas.

These days spiritual mediums are not reliable. I'm not that very

spiritual to speak to any god :) My grand-mother, as I stated in the

previous mail, was a great devotee of this goddess. She lived in

Triplicane (I read you're from Chennai too ) and from Triplicane to

Tiruverkadu, it was a far, far distance away and 40 years ago, there

were very scanty buses/transportation to reach the temple. I heard

there was a public service bus or something every Sunday very early

in the morning (ie like 5:00 am to be roughly around), and a return

transportation very late in the night. To avoid missing the Sunday

morning transport, my grandma used to catch the previous day night

transport and reach the temple on Saturday nights. Those days, the

temple used to be little scary, from what I heard, because it was

predominantly a forest, with no proper places to rest. So my grandma

and several other devotees used to lie down for the night in an open,

scary place to get darshan of the goddess on Sunday (the most

auspicious day for her) and also to be able to speak to a very devout

male medium (a purohit at that temple) who used to come only once a

month on late Saturday nights. Since my grandma did this as she had

stated for like some 15 years, every week without fail, this goddess

said/did all that to my Mom through this particular purohit/spiritual

medium at the temple. Also she told my grandmother that because she

worshipped her for so long, inspite of extreme difficulty with

regards to commute, etc. that she would protect/save all my grandma's

future generations for the next 21 generations (ie from any major

danger). You have to note that inspite of all that devotion, even my

grandma did not have any personal conversation with the goddess by

herself :) This thing had run its course I suppose, as we grew older,

we moved to further far off places, going to temple became an

impossiblity so often due to us growing, my mom's work, etc. this

specific purohit got old, he stopped his spiritual commune with the

goddess, the people who came later were dubious and not genuine and

so my family's touch with any reliable spiritualist communicating

with this Goddess faded away.

Then when I was 11, 20 years ago, we heard of another lady at some

place far off from Chennai who was supposedly very genuine and only

once went to visit her, when she gave me the lemons. For some reason,

we never visited her again, don't know/remember why. I remember the

lemon and nethra dosha thing only because several years later when I

was told to wear glasses, this somehow came to my memory, for which

my grandma told all that about the lemons, and thus still stays fresh

in my memory. I don't even know why we stopped visiting her and I

won't trust anyone these days that easily who claims to be spiritual

mediums of any specific god/goddess, since 40-50 years ago, it was

different times, there is some genuinity associated with the purohits

at that time, which is extremely hard to find now. Also the purohit

even at that time, never used to answer most questions of most

people, and I only stated the one or two which she said/promised in a

time span of 15 year worship by my grandma. And again, I'm not any

spiritualist or medium :)

Best regards,

Jayashree
