than you). The co-ords you've given are for Pretoria, which is much closer

to Johannesburg. Hence, the TZ should be 1E00, so this changes your ascendant

degrees to 15Aq58 so major changes in the vargas.

The rasi at a glance, indicates the most pertinent choice of gemstone for

you is Diamond, Venus being a Yogakaraka for you and so well place on the

ascendant and in your Dasamsa, Venus is in its own MT.

If you are now living in Cape Town, I go often. Vissie Moodley is a member

Hello

Everyone, Namaste

 

I am

a beginner to Jyotish and would like to understand a placement in my chart.  I

have no one in South Africa who I can refer to as there

are no qualified Jyotishis here and hence have to rely on all you wonderful

souls to assist in learning. 

 

I have

Saturn conjunct Mercury in my second house in Pisces.  Does

this bring about a limitation of ones earning potential. 

I am currently in my Jupiter Mahadasha, so would my earning capacity

change when I enter my Saturn Mahadasha in a few years time, in Jan 2012??

 

Also,

what are my career potentials with Ketu in the 10th.  I

have been interested in all things esoteric since December 2002.

 

If my

second house planets are limiting, what remedial measures should I follow. 

Should I be wearing something else with A Yellow Saphire?

Dear Bipin,

 

Here are some comments from a student.

 

Your chart is rather auspicious. All planets are strong in shadbala.

In the rasi chart, all planets except Mercury are in exaltation, own

house or the house of a friend. This is good for all matters

including money and career. However the navamsa chart is less strong,

so you may succeed easily at first and meet some obstacles later.

 

You need not worry about Saturn's dasa, as Saturn is a functional

benefic aspected by Jupiter, its dispositor, in good condition.

Also, Saturn is the lord of 11th from AL, meaning earnings, and a

planet cannot damage its own house. Of course, Saturn is conjunct

debilitated Mercury, but Mercury has parivartana yoga with Jupiter

and neechabhanga yoga with Venus, so I don't think this is bad.

 

You may already know what you can expect from Saturn as you have been

in sade-sati period for about 5 years. Besides, the Narayana dasa of

Pisces (where Saturn stays) is running from 1999/04/24 to 2008/04/23.

 

Yogakaraka Venus in 11th from AL, aspected by Jupiter, should be good

for income, but Venus is badhakesh. This may limit its benefits. This

question is being discussed now on the list. Saturn in 2nd from it

and in 12th from AL may give a lot of expenses.

 

Wrt your profession, you are dynamic and ambitious due to Mars, lord

of 10th, in moolatrikona and conjunct to exalted Sun, both in Arudha

lagna. However, you may find some limitations as they are afflicted

by a papakartari yoga with the same number of malefics on both sides.

This means some kind of bondage, so you may not be free to do what

you really would like to do. Also Mars is combust, so there are

limitations on the career (but not on the inner qualities). The

graha dristi of Rahu conjunct to Moon on the 10th house is not good

either.

 

In spite of all obstacles, Ketu in own house in 10th can mean self-

realization. Ketu also means precision instruments, computers, etc.

 

In D10, the 6th is stronger than the 7th, so you may be in service.

Saturn lord of lagna in 10th is good, especially as it aspects GL.

Mars, Jupiter and Sun are also yogadas as they join GL and aspect the

lagna. Such number of yogadas promises professional success. Mars as

lord of 10th debilitated in a dusthana does the same.

 

With Mercury as lord of the Varnada lagna, an intellectual profession

should suit you. Perhaps teaching, since there is parivartana between

Mercury and Jupiter in D1. In D10, exalted Jupiter in 6th, the house

of service, aspects Mercury and joins Mars, the lord of 10th, and the

Sun.

 

I can't give advice about remedies.
