Guest guest
Dear Dhira Krishna, Why are you subtracting 15 days from 273? This is a Western astrologymethod, as described also in Brhat Jataka, called the rule of Hermes. Ihave found it inaccurate in its calculation, except for the fact that itmay be more or less than 273 days whether Moon is waxing or waning andvisible or invisible and so.Here in this example it's not correct, since Rao Nemani has guessed itcorrect, though I'm amazed at how he arrived at it. It was indeed Dec21st. Now I'm going to see whether he has day or night correct also and ifthe time of birth will be correct. [Hari] This is based on the dictum that girls take about 2 weeks less than boys to deliver and I found this in a mail by Sanjay Rath on varahamihira archives where he gave some general rules to deduce the conception chart FROM the natal chart! So I would be tempted to call it Rath's rules but it is interesting to see what u gleaned from this! As of now, I dont know the ABC of western astrology so... Of course the date calculated not correct as I had myself admitted. Its clear that Raghunada's logic of calculating Dec 21 is flawed and that it happened to be the correct answer is just a coincidence. PS Ramanarayanan has shown the correct way and given the answer which is for you to verify. Interesting to see that he stuck to dwadasamsa principle for estimating the natal moon instead of cross-verifying with natal moon in kendras to conception moon. He also didnt use the daystrong adhana lagna to fix the time. You havent yet given the sex of the twins but I am tending to agree with Ramanarayanan's conclusion that it could be a girl (first delivery) and then a boy (second delivery) because the adhana lagna is posited in a dual lordship sign and Ketu in Sc lagna would indicate a girl while exalted Mars aspected by Ju would indicate a boy. I am doubtful about his conclusion regarding the birthtimes differing by seconds since its normal for twins to have a time difference in the order of minutes. Looking forward to your summary as well as your own analysis and a critical comparison of which methods work or which dont work. I am certain that Sanjay/Sarajit can give some pointers on how to work out the lunar month/tithi of birth. regards Hari Hotjobs: Enter the "Signing Bonus" Sweepstakes
