Dear Aakansha,

 

You asked a very easy question. Let me respond to it. There are only 8

charakarakas and Ketu is excluded from the scheme, as Ketu gives moksha (moksha

karaka).

 

You can read more about it in BPHS or more contemporary book like PVR Narasimha

Rao's book called Vedic Astrology an Integrated approach.
