Dear Astroneed,

First you need to understand the logic behind the houses

involved.Let me explain that first in short.

a) The 2nd house is seen for sustainence.So,the 2nd house from the seventh house

is seen to judge how the marriage will sustain itself.This is the 8th house from

the lagna.

b)The 7th house is also called the Dwara rasi.It's from here that our life

commences, our desires get manifested.

c)Now, to see the end of the first marrige we look at the 8th house from lagna

and to see how life commences from beyond that point we need to look at the 7th

house from that.This is the 2nd house from lagna.

d)Due to this logic the second house will show how the life moves further after

the end of the first marrige.

Dear List,

The 2nd and 7th houses are marakasthan(apart from other matters) and

hence show (physical) end, shutdown or death. 8th (as well as 3rd)

house stands for ayu or lenth of life i.e. sustainability. So, for

any certain house above criteria is to be set.

As far as the end of first marriage is concern, 2nd and 7th houses

should be studied not only from vivah sthan-7th bhav but also from

7th lord, karakas, and UL, both in Rashi and Navamsha. Therefore

widowhood is seen from 8th house, as it is 2nd from 7th.

Looking 2nd house, has it something related to second marriage? It

is 8th from 7th hence stands for duration or lenth of marriage. So

if 2nd house is weak or afflicted then sustainability of marriage

comes in danger. Dual signs in marriage relatd houses/grahas lead to

multiple marriages if tama-grahas(specially Mars & Rahu) are

involved. While Jupiter gives supportive back to (official) marriage

and family related happiness in female chart.

This can be applied to the Saptamsa chart.Though for that

first be sure the chart is accurate and also the count will change if the

Saptamsa lagna is Dual ,fixed or moveable.One can see the abortions etc too in

the Saptamsa chart.

Dear Kanupriya,

Although this topic is about how the second house affects the second

marriage, I am confused on one thing here. When I was quizzing

Sanjay Rath about the marriage factors in my chart, I asked him the

question why Moon mahadasha, as the 9th lord and running at the

correct age (21 to 31) did not bring marriage for me despite the

twin transit of Ju & Sa through the 7th house. His brief answer was

because Moon is in the second house. From this, I understood this to

mean that mahadashas of 2nd lord or planets in 2nd house usually

dont give the first marriage.

But now I have a case where the first marriage took place during the

mahadasha of a planet in the 2nd house! So I am kind of confused.

Could you please explain where is the missing piece of logic.

Secondly, suppose for example, that if a person gets married (for

the first time) during the mahadasha of the 2nd lord or planets in

the 2nd house, does it mean that some instability in marriage can be

there? The reason for this question is that a wise old astrologer in

India claimed that if (big IF!) I had gotten married during Moon

mahadasha, I would have been divorced by this time!! (currently in

Mars mahadasha). Since I am not married anyway, the claim is of no

use but here I am trying to understand the astrologer's logic from

the viewpoint of 2nd house. What is your opinion...

1)Yes, we've learnt that 2nd denotes second marriage- but end of first is 8th H-

so if we have malefic in 8th,

a/that would mean end of first m.

b/BUT it will aspect fully 2nd house- like, cause of break-up denotes 2nd spouse?

How would we reconcile the two (1, 2), if at all,

and how 2-8 axis /first ex/ can be explained. One thing is clear- before second

marriage comes, first has to end- ok.

-planet in 8th as a cause of marriage break-up- is not necessarily part of

second marriage quality as it does apply- full seventh H aspect on 2nd..

At times the second spouse may come and break the first

marriage.The planets placed in the 8th house will also show how the mariage

will break.The above situation can also be seen from the chart.Though other

factors have to be seen to give a correct prediction and this alone is not

enough to give such predictions.Navamsa plays an important role and placement

of Jupiter.

Dear Anna,

"One thing is clear- before second marriage comes, first has to end- ok." This

may not be the case always, especially in this part of the world!

I haven't read about 7,9 and 11th being houses for 1st, 2nd and 3rd houses. I

guess I will learn more as I go along.
