Retrograde / Stationary Direct

Dear friends,

A few days back, I requested information as to "Stationary Direct"

in Vedic astrology. I looked through the files in this group and a

few other astrology groups, and searched on the net, but did not

find anything regarding this subject. (Everything was geared towards

Western astrology.) Is it true that the planet "shines down like the

focussed beam of a flashlight", i.e. the effects are very

pronounced?

Could the learned members of this group please respond?

Thanks,

Venkat

Dear Venkat

It has been discussed earlier in the list that retrograde planets

have high chesta bala. Chesta is the willing to perform.

Mahatma Gandhi had Jupiter in Krittika in 7th house of interactions.

Jupiter was retrograde. Hence his work was called "SATYA GRAHA".

There are many clues here.

A) Retrograde shows inversion

b) Retrogression shows will power

c) Retrogression shows "GOING BACK TO ROOTS".

Return to the innocence.

partha

Dear Venkat,

I think that you asked about a period when the planet slows down,

before going direct, or retrograde/SD and SR/. I haven't seen

comment on that,on the List, either. But after many years of 'western

a.' experience I have no doubt that it is extemely potent astro fact.

As I've seen on this List, too, some apply 'western' progressions,

which is really valuable tool- just go one-day-for-a-year, and when

you see the planet SD or SR, you can be sure that would be an

important year- particularly when 'heavy' planets are involved- Ju,

Sa /or outers if you wish/- but the same works regularly with Mercury

Planet is in slower motion at that time, so, understandably, exerts

stronger influence. For example if your natal Sa was slowing down at

the time of birth, all things being equal, of course, Sa will be

more prominent /the most prominent/ than it would be otherwise

expected.

Hope this is the answer you are looking for.

Regards,

Anna

Good day!

I know good book on retro palnets in western astrology - Martin

Shulman "Karmic astrology" volume 2.

He defines three periods - as you've mentioned in the movement of

planets. And so the planet may move over one point of horoscope 3

times. And when there is one of the planets in natal chart - the

effect of this transit will be feeled by the native 3 times. Direct

movement - the birth of situation, retro - situation may be

interrupted suddenly, again direct movement - the return of

situation. And this will due to the quality of natal planet, aspects

and the quality of transit planet. You may observe the situation on

quick planets - mercury, venus, mars regarding to your horoscope.

If in your chart one of the planet has retro or stationery position -

then this area of your horo will be connected with some patterns of

behaviour which was applicable for you in your past life, but they

may not suit to present life, because the situation in your present

life may be cardinally other - for eg past life - being a man, this

life - a woman. Past life – you had three wives, this life – you are

one of three wives. And etc. That's the influence of your karmic

situations and habits. And it is hard to realize this in life.

Best regards.

Lyudmila
