Guest guest
Dear Visti, A relatively large % of the AK planets will fall within the limits of the Sandhi and Gandanta concepts. Is there any specific writing about that situation and/or it results during the planets dasa period ? Warm regards /Jay Weiss - Visti Larsen vedic astrology Friday, November 07, 2003 12:07 PM RE: [vedic astrology] Re: Planets in Rasi Sandhi |Hare Rama Krishna| Dear Pradeep, The definition gaNDAnta is not based on Pada’s, instead it’s actually based on time, however to approximate one has used the 3:20 degrees or 1 pada, to determine gaNDAnta, and as a result this has been used wrongly. There are 3 types of gaNDAnta: i) Lagna gaNDAnta. ii) Rasi (Moon) gaNDAnta. iii) Tithi gaNDAnta (Junction between Poorna and Nanda Tithi’s). As you can see above, there is no gaNDAnta for other grahas than the Lagna and Moon. For the other Graha’s only Sandhi can occur. To calculate whether Lagna is in gaNDAnta do the following: Determine the time when the Lagna is at exactly 0:00 degrees of the fiery sign. If the Birthtime is within 30 minutes range (ahead or prior) from the above ascertained time, then the Lagna is in gaNDAnta. Similarly arrive at the same using the Moon as the focal point to arrive at Rasi gaNDAnta, however instead use the values: 2 hrs before (5 ghatika) and 1 hr 12 min after (3 ghatika). Now within the definition of Rasi gaNDAnta lies some very specific principles regarding Abhukta, pitri, matri, etc gaNDAnta. The Lagna gaNDAnta causes loss of intelligence, whilst Rasi gaNDAnta causes loss of longevity/pranas. Hope this helps. Best wishes, Visti. p.s. It would be nice if this was included in software. vijayadas_pradeep [vijayadas_pradeep ] Friday, November 07, 2003 11:29 AMvedic astrologySubject: [vedic astrology] Re: Planets in Rasi Sandhi Dear Visti JiIf a planet is in the 1st and last padas of certain nakshatras we call it in Khandanata.Kindly tell me whether the whole padas (ie full first pada or full last pada)can be considered as khandantas or are there exclusions within. Thanks and respectPradeep vedic astrology, "Visti Larsen" <balabhadra@j...> wrote:> |Hare Rama Krishna|> Dear Patrice,> As per the definition, Rasi Sandhi is the first or last 1 degree of a> sign. Guest guest
|Hare Rama Krishna| Dear Jay, You are quoting a statistical reference no doubt, arising from the many charts you have seen. Basically what your seeing is the state of the AK, and the worse the state of the AK the harder becomes the learning – pure and simple. Infact even if they do not reside in Sandhi or Gandanta (only incase of Moon being AK) they risk being in Old-age or infancy (see Balaadi Avasthas). The results of this are quoted herein from an old mail of Sanjay Rath: font-family:"Courier New"">Jaya Jagannath Mahaprabhu Dear Zoran, Due to the Mritavastha, the planet will give the results only in the last minute i.e. after all the means have been tried and the native is on the verge of giving up hopes related to its matters & lordship. As the AK, the Atma Gyana will come at a very late age...and so on. Thus, your analysis of the set-back is correct, but collapse may not be so true because of Degree instead, the "collapse" can be due to the placement of the planet in Sagittarius Navamsa meaning "fall from height" or"collapse". With Regards, font-family:"Courier New"">Sanjay Rath Hope this helps. Best wishes, Visti. J. Guest guest
Dear Visti, Yes, it's true (you know I love statistics...). Old age / infancy is true as well but at the bottom of all of that I was looking for any statement that included the combination of all those with regard to one planet (take my own example of Mercury). Warm regards /Jay Weiss - Visti Larsen vedic astrology Friday, November 07, 2003 3:01 PM RE: [vedic astrology] Re: Planets in Rasi Sandhi -> Visti |Hare Rama Krishna| Dear Jay, You are quoting a statistical reference no doubt, arising from the many charts you have seen.
