OM NAMO SHIVAY

Dear Hari, RamaRao Ji and members

Looks like its Ok to discuss Punya Chakra: I compiled all the rules

last night(that I had) and here they are:

(I) Initial Refuge of the departed soul

*** 6th HouseDrekkana(16th Drekkana): Sadripu(punishment due to

weaknesses)

*** 7th house(rebirth occurs soon)

*** 8th house drekkana(khara or 22nd drekkana-punishment due to sins)

*** Jupiter's power to veto the negative indications and bless

(II) (please note that its Immediate and not Intermediate. I had a

typo yesterday)

Immediate movement of the atma after death

*** Planets in Lagna

*** Three fold division-Bhu, Bhuva and Swarga Loka

(III)Final Abode

***Twelevth house and Importance of Jupiter

***Sastamsa: Dharma and moksha

***Brahma Loka and moksha

***Param padam of Visnu

The Sequence of Soul's Journey after death: Time period on earth

(ghost), followed by punishments(if any), followed by Journey to

higher lokas/planets(if any) , followed by Rebirth(if no Moksha).

(I)PLANETS IN LAGNA: Time period when the soul is still on this earth

after death:

See the Navamsha occupied by the planets in Lagna and multiply by the

time period indicated by the planet. The resulting time period is the

time, when the soul moves on the earth (or around its relatives or

friends after death). The default is Moon (12days), when no planets

are in Lagna and in the minimum case its 12 days

Saturn: 1 year

Sun: 6 months

Mercury:2 months

Venus: 15days

Mars : 1-7 days

Moon: 12 days

Jupiter: 1 month

So if Jupiter is in Lagna at 15 Sagittarius 04, then it's the 5th

Navamsha and mutiply with 1 month for Jupiter: So the soul is still

on the earth for another 5 months after death. Always take the

highest time period given by the planets in the Lagna. If no planets

its 12 days. In the maximum case of Saturn in the 9th Navamsha in

Lagna, it can be 9 years. (this can also be called the time period

that the ghost is present on earth and trying to communicate with its

loved/close ones. Also the mind is not yet separated from the soul

and the soul can still be entangled in all types of materialistic

thoughts and desires connected to his/her life on this earth )

(Presence of Planets in various houses: Analyse like rashi charka,

but keep in mind the rules for punya charka related to 6th/7th/8th

and 12th houses. Also there are no mahadasas etc involved here since

life is pretty much over and ignore those calculations. Also ignore

the karakas etc., Just focus on Various planets in varius houses in

various Rashis and see where they lead you(Punishments, pardons by

jupiter, hell or heavens on rebirth))

(II) Next comes the punishments(if any) which happen when there are

planets in 6th/7th/8th houses(definitelyif there are planets in the

above mentioned drekkanas of 6th/7th/8th houses):

1. Mars: Krodha(anger)

2. Mercury: Envy/Jealousy

3. Moon: Moha/Attachments to loved ones

4. Saturn: Lobha: Greed linked to materialism

5. Sun: Pride/Intoxication with Power

6. Venus: Involvement (mentally/physically) with other women/men

(other than spouse) during life or rather say Venus related sins

committed during the lifetime.

7. Jupiter: No sins and Jupiter's graha dristi or of Jupiter is

dispositor of above planets will mean pardoned by Jupiter in that

area.

8. Rahu: Should be treated like Saturn, I suppose.

(III) After this time period the soul goes to different lokas(hell,

heavenetc., )CHeck the Hora at the time of death(if I am correct)

Please see SaptaLOka article by The Guru here.

1. BHULOKA(remains on EARTH due to MARS's Hora),

2. ANTARIKSHA (FREE SPACE; due to SUN's Hora),

3. SWARGALOKA (Abode of Heavens; due to VENUS's Hora),

4. MAHARLOKA (ABODE OF; due to MERCURY's Hora)

5. JANA LOKA (COMPASSION; due to MOON's Hora),

6. TAPALOKA (ABODE OF PENANCE due to SATURN's Hora) and

7. SATYALOKA (ABODE OF TRUTH DUE TO JUPITER's Hora and this is

the highest abode) etc)

(IV)FINAL ABODE(12th house and Jupiter):

Some rules for interpretations(based on certain charts):

1.No Planets in 12th means that the soul goes to higher lokas after

birth and then comes down for rebirth.

2.Jupiter's Graha Aspect on 12th house means heavens and moksha in

subsequent birth.

3.10th Lord in 12th and Jupiter's graham aspect on 12th means

moksha , but f Jupiter is in 2nd house, then the soul comes back for

rebirth

4.Number of planets in 7th house shows how many births will happen:

One planet in 7th shows multiple births and if there are three

planets in 7th house, then at least 3 births will happen.

5. 7th Lord in 12th means goes to higher planets/lokas.

I will come up with my grandfather's punya chart soon in few days. i

have yet to analyse it.

HI Rajesh and others in this thread,

That was a nice piece of Information and thanks for sharing with us. However

you have not mentioned the time period for Rahu & Kethu if they are in

Lagna. Plus if we have more than one planet I presume we need to add the

time period of each of the planets, that are in Lagna. Do we take the period

of Sa for Rahu & Mars for Ke?

Another important question. Can we also associate the relatives signified by

the planet will be (possibly)interacting with the soul, during the time

period when the soul is hoavering around in earth.

Thanks and with best regards

Hi Lakshman

Thanks for your appreciation, but actually I learnt it form Shri

Sanjay Rath only during the west coast conference. SO he is the real

person to be thanked for. I do not have answers to your questions..so

may be rahu and ketu are to be treated like staurn and mars(not

sure)..however the time period is for the planet with maximum length

and time periods do not add up. You have a very good question: who

are the relatives with whom the soul is trying to communicate after

death?(this is my interpretation)Prehaps the learned members and

Gurus can answer this one.

Infact this is an interetsing topic(punya chakra) since the living

people have a hard time to understand where the close relatives have

gone after death(and often I have seen that the living people remain

sad/depressed for months/years and develop an offensive attitude in

life towards their friends and relatives, after they loose some one

close especially those people, who are in 50-60 age group and who

loose their husband/wife,...they release their anger on their

children, freinds, relatives, neighbours etc for years and years and

become so unpredictable and unstable in every thing...prehaps punya

chakra interpretations can give them some comfort and make such

people normal soon for the sake of those who are around them. )

Here's my grandfather's punya chakra(hope to get some comments and

learn more here).

Sun is at 28Libra46 in the 9th Navamsa. So it has gained 8 navamsas

and hence the soul is aorind the earth for 8 X 6 = 48 months. So he

is still around us until Nov 2005. Grandfather/Dada ji spent 55 years

of life alone rasing his children and grandchildren, since his wife

passed away when he was just 34 only(he had two sons and 4

daughters). So he was a Brahmachari during those 55 years and has

practially no personal materialistic desires(having lost all his

property etc in Pakistan and having reached India on one of those

last trains from Pakistan to India in 1947).. ….however he wanted all

his children to work hard and become something in independent India.

He was an Electrical Engg. Lab Instructor and worked for Engg.

Colleges at Roorkee and then for 20 years at Punjab Engg. College

Chandigarh for Govt. of India. He worked on same position in Punjab

Engg College Lahore(before 1947)..a life dedicated to his children

and also dedicated to building and maintaining electrical engg.labs

(big motors, electrical meters, appliances, tools etc). So no wonder

he had no personal desires as there are no planets in 7th house and

also no enemies in 6h house(no jealousy etc., he prayed to Gods

whenever he was not working)

Saturn in 8th house indicates Lobha/greed ..well he had to earn money

and to arrange education and marriages of all his children and so he

had to involve himself in materialism from (born in 1910) 1934 to

1971, until he retired. Since saturn is not in 22nd Drekkanna, so he

probably will not suffer much punishments in the 8th house(as per

rules given). Saturn is in 23rd Drekkanna.

No planets in 12th indicates that he ill go to higher lokas and will

then be born again. So at least he will see the swargaloka for

sometime and that gives me some satisfaction and comfort. Jupiter is

also 6th Lord, so most probably he has been pardoned for his sins, if

any. He never said a single word against his wife (or any woman) for

those 55 years. Practically speaking he lived like a working sadhu

(simple man) involved in repairing and rebuilding those electrical

meters(tons of them, which my uncle(younger son) messed up all the

time and which I never understood in life(how they worked even though

he taught me so many times). Surprizingly he went to Haridwar only

one time in life after retirement and used to say often that its not

good to visit holy places often otherwise God calls you back to his

abodes much sooner! That's what we learnt amazingly from his long

life…to live strongly and bravely and make less trips to holy places

(if you simply want to keep on living until 91,,. no wonder his elder

brother had similar views and lived until 100 at least..(the two of

them out-lived several of their younger brothers and sisters by

decades, even out-lived their own son-in-laws and other relatives)…

they kept on walking hilariously… on and on …and living strongly

for30/40 years after retirement, while the young generation went to

Doctors , hospitals etc and what not! …they both stayed away from

hospitals and big holy places!...may be their style/secret of living

can help those who are demoralized these days due to this recession

etc., )

Thanks and Regards.

Dear Rajesh,

Thanks for sharing your interpretation of your grandfathers punya

chakra. Just a quick question:

> Saturn in 8th house indicates Lobha/greed ..well he had to earn

> money and to arrange education and marriages of all his children

> and so he had to involve himself in materialism from (born in

> 1910) 1934 to 1971, until he retired. Since saturn is not in 22nd

Both Sa and Ju are retrograde; so the interpretation may not be

always straightforward. We cannot try to justify the placement by

reconciling with his present life or what we know of his life. There

are many rebirths and Sa may not always indicate for this birth

alone. Astrology teaches us to be dispassionate and merge with the

universal identity.

Secondly, from your description, it appears that your grandfather

did his duty (dharma), thats all. how is it to be construed as

greed? Dont forget that Sa is the dharma karaka as well.

Hari

OM NAMO SHIVAY

Dear Hari

Thanks for your comments. Yes you may be right here: My attempts to

justify planetary positions by reconciling with his known life, are

actually my personal astrological limitations. Retrograde Saturn and

Jupiter could indicate some higher expecations/ambitions which could

not be fulfiled in this life. Hope other members can throw some light

on this thing: What does retrograde planets indicate in punya chakra?

Yes everyone (in my family) said that he was not at all greedy. He

always lived conservatively within his limited/fixed income and

slowly gathered the resources(in independent India) to educate and

marry his children, especially his four daughters. By the time he

retired he was left with no personal accomodations or land or house

(having lived in Govt. house all his life) and eventually he lived in

the house constructed by my father. However he was a very proud man

with a strong character and always loved India till the end. He had

no bitterness in his heart that he was left with just a pension and

very little money after working 40 years for the Govt. of India. Also

he never regretted loosing all his ancestral properties in Pakistan

(while his other relatives cried throughout their lives about those

properties and lands etc)and infact he was very happy to be a proud

citizen of independent India. So in a certain sense, he lived his

life very optimistically(within his resources and income earned by

his own efforts) and everyone known to him, said(when he passed away)

that he did his duty perfectly(dharma). Thanks for pointing this

out..i almost missed this most crucial aspect of his life. His sense

of duty towards his family and love for his nation was very strong

till his end.

(As I have said earlier, punya chakra can give lot of satisfaction to

those who loose their life partners in the middle of their lives and

then get very angry on their children and friends for years and

years. They become completely different angry personalities.)

Hope to see some more charts with punya chakra discussions..i know

everyone may not feel comfortable on such a personal topic and

everyone may not appear to be so perfect if compared to my grandfather

(in my own family, none can reach his simplicity and high standards.

We are all human and subject to a hundred failures everyday.) But we

are not here(on this list) for any type of horoscope comparisions or

to become judgemental on the lives of others(after they have gone

away). This topic is just for our own satisfaction and learning only.

This topic is more like: where did they go next? Its like that the

last flight took off but no one saw where it landed next!

Thanks and Regards

Dear friends,

Birth and Punya Charts of my younger brother are attached who died short

of his 40th birthday. He was an emergency doctor by profession, waiting

for metro train when he likely had a heart attack/cerebral hammerage(No

autopsy was done). He was taken to the same emergency hospital by the

paramedics. We feel he was already dead by the time he was taken to the

hospital. The paramedics reached the metro station 15 minutes after other

passengers called 911.

Most surprising is the dasa of his AK and yogakarka Venus and Antara of

his lagna lord Saturn ,two planets which should have been protecting

him.(360 degree solar years)

I will be thankful if some learned members could try reconcile the above

and also comment on the Punya chart.

With regards and thanks,

Jagmeet

Dear Rajesh Ji,

The two charts are given below.

Dear Chandershekhar Ji,

Thanks for answering my query. But I still have doubts

No doubt Sat is 2nd lord,a maraka house but it is still the Lagna lord.At a

glance from a chart, I would have found it difficult to infer that AK and Lagna

lord dasa/antardasa will kill a native specially when they have high ista phal.

with regards,

Jagmeet

Dear Jagmeet ji,

With all due regards, here are my humble thoughts. I just went to

those things which strike me first and its not necessayr that I am

right at all. Please accept my good wishes for the soul and hope this

analysis gives you strength to continue and go deeper further in this

analysis(i am also learning here)

Ashtakavarga of Saturn

1. The 8th place from Saturn in a nativity is reckoned as Mrityu

Sthana and the same also denotes the longevity. Total up the number

from Rekhas from Ascendent to Saturn . The disease and enemity will

come up in the year equal to total number of rekhas. Also total the

Rekhas from Saturn to Ascendent in the Ashtakavarga of Saturn

and the danger of the disease in the year equivalent to the total

number of rekhas be predicted. The sum total of the two numbers of

Rekhas will denote the year in which the native will faced death or

death like stress.

Saturn is in Capricorn , so the first diseases/attack happens in 5th

year of life and then the sumtotal of rekhas from Saturn to

Ascendent is 39. So second offense happens in 39th year and finally

death type stress happens in 44th year of life

Contemplation of death:

2. The number of Rekhas in 8th place from Saturn in the Ashtakavarga

of Saturn

be multiplied by total shodhya Pinda(Ashtakavarga of Saturn) and the

product be divided by 27 and the Nakshatara equivalent to the

remainder on counting from Aswini and its trinal(10th and 19th)

Nakshataras , when transited by Saturn can indicate death of the

native

Here the shodya Pinda is 186 and the 8th place from saturn has no

(zero) rekhas. So Saturn's transit over ashwini nakshatara itself and

its trinal nakshataras(Makha and Moola) can cause death.

3. Also the product be divided by 12 and the sign denoted by the

remainder and its trinal (10th and 19th) Nakshataras , when transited

by Saturn can indicate death/death like stress of the native

186 * 0 /12 ..remainder is 12. So uttaraphalguni(26Leo40 to 10Vi00)

and its trinal (Uttarashaada..26Sg40 to 10Cp00 and Krittika (26Ar40

to 10Ta00)) nakshataras when trasnitted by Saturn indicates death

like stress.

Unfortunately Saturn was in Krittika on that day and he was passing

through 39th year of life, so it's a double attack by Saturn in

transit and Saturn in the Rashi chart. Saturn is Lagna Lord as well

as Markesha in the chart. Also saturn is in the nakshatra lorded byS

un, who is the 8th Lord in the Rashi chart and placed badly in the

6th house of enemies and diseases. Now why did Saturn act as

Markesha and not as Lagna Lord is the critical question? may be the

answer can come from determination of life length using three pairs

method? Or is the atamkaraka Venu rendered weak since its dispositor

Mars is in the 8th house…now sometimes we see Rashi Lordship and

sometimes Nakshatara Lordship t justify/reach the results..which Lord

ship is more important and to be considered? There are so many

schools of thoughts/methodologies in vedic astrology. Ofcourse above

all is the never ending Bhavat Bhavam Analysis(I remember that Shri

RamaRao ji had once (long time ago )done a long analysis of 4/5 pages

just on 10th house only..still understanding it whenever I get time).

So may be Bhavat Bhavam analysis of Lagna/8th Lord/Atamkaraka has to

be done here.(never mind, who in his normal senses will do all types

of death analysis when one is still living and moving around)

First Lord and 8th Lord pair (Saturn in Capricorn and Sun in Gemini)

Moveable sign + Dual Sign = Short Life span

Lagna and Hora Lagna(Capricorn and Virgo) Moveable + Dual = Short

Life Span

Saturn and Moon(Capricorn and Scorpio) Moveable + Fixed = Middle Life

Span.

So did he have a short life of just 36 years? well he did reach

39plus.

(Moveable+ Movebale= Long Life

Dual+Fixed = long Life

Dual+Dual = Middle Life

Fixed + Moveable = Middle Life Span

Moveable+ Dual = Short Life Span

Fixed+Fixed = Short Life Span )

PUNYA CHAKRA

Saturn is at 7Taurus46 and so it has gained 2 Navamshas indictaing

that the soul is still around for 2 X 1 = 2 years on this earth

after death. No planets in 6th indicates no enemies and no jealousy.

Hence No punishments. 7th house shows no planets and hence no desires

left at/after death. 8th house has Mars And Ketu. Ketu is in 23rd

Drekkanna and hence no punishments. Dispositor Of Mars and Ketu is

Jupiter so all his anger/krodha etc has been pardoned by jupiter(due

to his good work and fulfillment of duties/dharma) Jupiter is also

the dispositor of Venus and so all his relationships/dealings with

women have also been pardoned by great Jupiter. He appears to be a

very excellent man/noble soul with all these pardons form Jupiter.

Sun in 12th house indicates some great pride/intoxication with power.

I really do not know whether he is pardoned here since its dispositor

is Mars whose dispositor is Jupiter or he simple got a big lecture to

be humble after death(since all other things have already been

pardoned by Jupiter)… Since he left in Mars's Hora, so he is still in

Bhuloloka(earth) after death and Rahu in 2nd House(10th Lord in 2nd

house) indicates that he has taken rebirth/will take rebirth soon. So

he did have desires to be born again and that seems to have been

granted.

So please be rest assured that his soul is continuing on its own

unique journey in its own relaxed manner. That's all I know sofar.

With great regards and good wishes for the departed soul,

Regards, RMK.

Dear Ash Ji,Chandershekhar Ji and Rajesh Ji,,

I am thankful to all of you for studying the chart of my late brother

from diffrent angles and systems.I am going through your replies and will

go through them again and again for improving my learning. You have all

been very kind.As my sister-in-law had contacted some psychics to know

about my late brother I will pass on Rajesh Ji's infrences to her and my

parents who will be much at peace with everything. No doubts he had

fulfilled his dharma in life because about 10 years before his death he

had cancer. He worked hard to make his family financially secure.Out of

four of us he was the one who troubled our parents the least while

growing up and even after growing up.

With regards and heartfelt thanks,

Jagmeet

Dear Jagmeet,

May your brother's noble soul rest in peace.

Having read tomes on "After Life" by the renowned psychic Sylvia

Browne who is a Medium as well, I am convinced that the dead are more

alive than us mortals and look out for their kith and kin even in the

Other World.

Regards,

Polly

Dear Members

Here are some more thoughts on this topic: As per Karmic theory, a

human being is born only 9 times during 84 million yonis/births as

other life forms. Out of these 9 births, 4 are that of a man, 4 are

of a woman and the middle one is always that of an enuch/hermaprodite

(KTShubhkarkan's books). There are several sequences possible of

alternate male/female births or four births of same sex, followed by

enuch birth and followed by four births of other sex.

So the Supreme God has several surprizes and humilating lessons

reseverd for us. For all those strong and macho men, it can be very

humilating thought that their next birth can be that of a woman and

they will have to perform all the womanly duties in next life/or

simply live as a woman for several years. On the otherhand, its

equally humilating for the die-hard feminists to acknowledge that

their next birth can be that of a man, whom they love to hate most

in this birth. Not only that al the 9 Nava Rasa(9 tastes) must be

experienced by all in various births i.e, Sringara(Love), Vira

(Heroism), Bhibhatsa (Disgust), Raudra(Anger/Fury), Mirth(hasya),

Terror, Pity, wonder and Tranquility/contentment/Paternal fondness.

So if one has experienced more of one type of taste in last life,

then he/she will experience less of that taste in this life. That

pretty much explains why people with same rashi chart have different

destinies(with or without taking divisional charts in consideration).

Recently I have seen/felt how planets take away life(its always easy

to mention the word death and always difficult to describe the

processes that lead to it), when one of my Uncles passed away. He was

so strong and so enthusiastic about life in general, yet he remained

humble throughout his life(perhaps that thing helped him) and in the

end prayed to gods to relieve him from a painful existence state

(considering the fact that he was still very healthy and very active

until the very last few months of his life. He was just 60 only and

rather looked like 45 only). So in the end not much time is available

(before those four men/women in white come to take us away, as he

kept mentioning them few days before he left... only he could see

them.)Gone are the so called good old days when one could go to the

forest and spent 25/35 years in tapasaya mode after retirement and

reach the great sanyasi status(there is no guarantee thesedays even

with most modern medcines, people pass away at 45/50/60 age only)..

In general available time on this earth, becomes shorter and shorter

suddenly thesedays.

So its better to achieve some punya(good karma accumulation) in this

life rather than trying to achieve/activate rajyogas by all types of

remedial measures and this punya can help of make the transition from

this world to other smooth in the end. Also all types of remedial

measures(gemstones, luckystones, kavach, bracelets, yantaras, special

puja to control the planets, etc) are just postponement of the

planetary punishments, which come later on in life and are even more

severe sometimes. So may be a small punishment has been postponed

temporarily and the bigger one will come in future(in this very life

or a next life). May be the mantras and punya karma(good deeds) are

the best remedy for all times.

Thanks and Regards.

RMK.
