Guest guest Posted November 4, 2003 Report Share Posted November 4, 2003 Hi Satish - I cast your chart using JHora lite and noticed that your lagna is in rasi sandhi (end of saggitarius and begining of capricorn). This mean a few minutes earlier could push your lagna to saggitarius. Mercury will then be your 7th and 10th lord. Although, in my experience the lagna lord, yogakaraka, trine lord is usually choosen, in your case, it seems like someone suggested you wear a green emerald (for lord of 7th and 10). The 7th lord's (esp being badhaka for saggitarius lagna) is definitely not a good thing to wear. Now suppose you already have a rectified time (or is the right time), then mercury becomes your 6th and 9th lord. Although ownership of the 9th is good, mercury also owns the 6th house and is positied in the 5th (may cause emotional problems, lot of strive-hardwork, and problems to children). Hence i don't think green emerald is appropriate here. Gurus will know best on what will work good for you. Got married in Chennai, India on May 13th 1996 2. Lost my job in a company which I co-founded being back stabbed by my subordinates in May 1999 3. Bought my first house on June 17th 1999 4. Started a new business in March 2000 and got two big contracts on May 10th 2000. 5. My first baby girl was born on May 25th 2001 6. Second baby girl was adopted from Bangalore,India on March 17th 2003. Can gurus tell me what my rising sign is? Capricorn or Sagittarius. Thanks in Advance. There are a couple of other things as well. Is Mercury being Vargottama having any negative impact? Does Ra-Me Dasha have any negative effect as it started end last year? Is wearing Emerald to activate Mercury or to Calm Mercury? Please let me know. However since 2nd house owned by Venus is the 8th house, and that Venus is Kendradhipati it attracts Kendradhipati affliction, being a benefic. It would not be proper to wear Diamond. Should your Mercury be badly placed and weak in Navamsha( In which case you would probably have skin problems), you could wear Emerald. This is because he is lord of 9th and 12th( a neutral house per Laghu Parashari). You could confirm the efficacy of the principles by removing Diamond and see what you experience. Guest guest Posted November 12, 2003 Report Share Posted November 12, 2003 Dear Narasimharaoji, If you have read my mail, you will find that I have not recommended wearing Emerald as a blanket statement. I have indicated that it be worn only if badly placed and with not much strength derived from Navamsha. I have also indicated that should such be the case skin problems will be present. Further I have advised Richard to test the efficacy by just removing Diamond and find out for himself. Even this, is in response to the original mail which seeks to know whether Trinal lordship removes blemishes of owning Trika or Trishadaaya Sthanas. Therefore the relevance of Drekkana theory for this case is difficult to understand. Specially when I was referring to a much finer division like Navamsha personally think that divisional strength of a planet based on only Drekkana could mislead as the planet could be in Navamsha of a dusthana easily, though in good Drekkana. Should your comment be in respect of "other Jyotishis prescribing Lord of Ascendant stone", you already know my opinion on that. I am against blanket recommendation of Gems for Ascendant barring Cancer and Leo where the Lords do not own any other Sthana. Correct me if I am wrong.
