Rahu and food

October 21, 2003

Dear Sir,

To my understanding,Bengali brahmins are not vegetarians!Even Tamil brahmins are

changing their food habits due to exposure to the wider world.I was brought up

in a very orthodox family and vegetarianism as a cult, we followed rigidly.But

when I took up an assignement in the Middle East,I had no option other than to

go for non veg food.Now that I am back I have switched back to vegetarian food

but once in a while,dine out and have delicious chicken food in various forms.

To try to find an astrological backing for every human habit may not be

worthwhile.That is my humble view.

About i am also a tamil bramin and always a vegetarian.Whether the rahu dasa or

some other dasa.Because of mind control one can stick in certain things i hope.

Dear Sir,

Very true!But that is exactly what a lot of people do in this world!Why?In the

Far East,the eating habits of people can be horrifying to many of us.One of the

specialities there is to have a baby monkey served live in a cage and the diners

to tap open its skull and eat the throbbing active brain!

How can we ever be forgiven?

I was

just wondering that does Rahu has any problem with good foods? Does Rahu make

the native eat worse foods, ill cooked foods, low class foods or suffer from

satisfaction from diet in it's period without joining the 2nd house/lord in the

natal chart? Rahu is in strong in the natural 2nd house however we all know the

evil plan of Rahu in getting the nectar.

Dear Tanvir

I have Rahu in my second house(not alone but with three others!)and I

have Jupiter in own house in Lagna. I am a non vegetarian. I am

running my Rahu MD.I am living abroad. After coming out you are

forced to eat more refrigerated food than it used to be at home. Say

MC Donald's Burger:-) or the saambar(it is a mixed vegetable loose

curry, popular in the southern part of India, in case you don't know

what it is) which you had cooked the previous day!. So I don't know

if Rahu had any influence on this.But to be frank i don't mind eating

this when i am hungry.May be perhaps here Rahu is thinking only about

the hunger signal which brain has received and not worried about the

stomach:-). Rahu doesn't have a stomach in any case!But i dont like

running Rahu Maha Dasa too. Being a Brahmin from Andhra

Pradesh,India by birth, I am always a Vegetarian and having

freshly cooked food also.

So what is the link between Rahu dasa and food,

I really did not understand, can you please explain a little

bit more on this discussion please.

Dear Sarajit,

Namaskar,

I am now running Rahu Maha Dasa. My Rahu is in the 2nd house with Saturn. As you

know, I am a Vaishnav brahmin, and I am a strict Vegetarian. According to

Mansagari, a person having Rahu in the 2nd house in his chart, is a " meat

eater ".

But one must also consider the aspect of benefics on Rahu, before giving any

prediction of the "bad things" of Rahu. In my case, the aspect of Jupiter from

the 10th house and Lagnadhipati Venus from own 8th house have much to do in

toning down the maleficience of Rahu.

Please give your valuable opinion.

About i am also a tamil bramin and always a vegetarian.Whether the rahu dasa or

some other dasa.Because of mind control one can stick in certain things i hope.
