Guest guest
Dear Chandrashekhar, Just as an aside, I was wondering how the name Shantha (a not too uncommon female name in south India) could've originated. That they keep up a chatter later in life is another matter ) Warm regards, Ramapriya hubli (AT) vsnl (DOT) com - Chandrashekhar vedic astrology Monday, May 19, 2003 10:36 PM Re: [vedic astrology] Birth Time & not crying at birth Dear Shailesh, Could you confirm from your parents what was the time taken to record your time of birth? If the time difference between cutting of umbilical cord and time of cry are fdifferent by a sizable margin, this would help understand the concept of birth time better. Guest guest
Dear Shailesh. If I remember right, Ketu in 2nd makes one"Stabdhavak". probably the correct way to describe your fear of public speaking. Chandrashekhar. - Shailesh Rana vedic astrology Monday, May 19, 2003 9:45 AM Re: [vedic astrology] Birth Time & not crying at birth Hari OM Dear Gurus & Learned Friends, Pranaams! Since a lot is being discussed here regarding the time to be considered as "birth" for our jyotish purposes, if it may not be out of context, I'm attaching my chart. I'm not supposed to have cried for a few minutes, right after my delivery. When I had asked a learned astroger, at home in Nepal, I was pointed toward the conjunction of Surya/Rahu in lagna in my chart. In addition to this, when I was a kid playing with friends, one "siddha" mahatma/astrologer was supposed to have commented to my mother asking "if this kid didn't speak/cry at birth"....he had never known us, and I was just a "stranger" to him.. Does this have to do with the malefic involvement of Sun/Rahu/Ketu/Mars(Jupiter) on my lagna ? Or, how is this to be seen in a chart? An ounce of jyotish knowledge that I have tells me Ketu/Mercury/2nd house & its lord & its association play an important role for dumbness/speech related things etc...Otherwise I don't have any problem with speech related things, except of course my fear of public speaking.. Please grant some light.... I would like to have a look in your chart. Please post me personally. For such cases also and also for cases of still born birth, I would take the cutting of the umbilical cord. This becomes a problem when you take first cry or first breath or something like that as the time of birth, where the birth time cannot be found as the baby didn't cry. Guest guest
Om sai Ram, Chandrashekhar ji, pranaam, My son has ketu in the second house- he is a good public speaker and represented his schools in many competitions.Does the rule have any exceptions per se? ketu in 2nd though receives argala from the lagna with mercury, sun, venus and mars in leo.Does this factor make the difference? Interestingly- ketu has always held a special appeal- Its presence in The UL is supposed to make the spouse very spiritual- I have recently seen a chart where the couple is on the verge of divorce and though the spouse outwardly very ritualistic is very scheming and plotting- I know this for a fact as they are very close tome.Could this be because arudhas are always related to maya and have nothing to do with truth? regards, anu. - Chandrashekhar vedic astrology Wednesday, May 21, 2003 1:29 AM Re: [vedic astrology] Birth Time & not crying at birth Dear Shailesh. Guest guest
Dear Anu, You are right, merely ketu in second would not make one Stabdhawak. There have to be other yogas which are afflicting the second house(Vachasthana). Ketu when single acts like Mars. The house in which he is placed is also relevant to understand which of flavours are going to materialise. Single Ketu in 2nd , sometimes may create some setback in studies and some haveng similar Ketu might have a harsh tongue. Aall yogas have to be viewed in entirity and not alone. This is why when the texts say that Ketu in Upapada gives spirituality, one should understand that it shows a tendency of taking sanyaas. The only problems that arise is one can take Sanyaas from work, sanity, life, marital bonds and so on. So no wonder that the couple are on the verge of separation. Also when we remember that Mars is associated with Dambha(show off) Ketu in a position where he acts like mars could give that tendency too. Where we sometimes the texts not matching results , usually what happens is that we tend to take meaning of words literally instead of understanding that they could indicate a tendency and are always subject to modification depending on aspects, associations and house ownerships as well as navamsha strengths.
