Guest guest
om namo näräyaëäya Dear Rao, A good question. Now in the last birth, the native may be a female. There were no male issues in that family. But this female native's father might have had some brothers and they might have got sons and it becomes mandatory for such sons to perform the final rites of his close relative. Now suppose you may ask there were no male issues in that family tree, then there will not arise question as the family got extinction ie.,not carried to another generation. But now why this Pitru Dosha arises in this birth means there were chances for the native or his close relative to perform the last rites of his/her father and was not done due to some clashes in the family or some other reasons and as a result, this Pitru Dosha arises in the present birth saying the last rites of your father in previous birth was not done and now in this life you have to do if you want to continue in this family generation. These details are not available in Astrological texts and can be found in Karma Vipaka or some vedic texts or its commentaries. I hope this helps you. Guest guest
Dear Ramadas ji, I also beleive that if one does not treat their father well or caused great grief, this pitru shaapa should be evident in the chart. In my humble opinion, it may not manifest solely on the basis of not performing last rites properly. Moreover, non-indians do not have the same scriptural obligations as Indians do for offering pinda etc.So the definition should be broader to include, any grief to father in the previous birth. These are just my thoughts. There are many cases where they illtreat the parents while they are alive but do the last rites properly. This should surely come up as pitru shaapa. I would love to hear your opinion. Guest guest
Dear Ramadas Ji ,Sudharsan Ji and Karen Ji, I agree with you that she may have been a male in the last birth. But how does a lady do the Puja for Pitri shaap in this birth as the last rites or related activities are to be done by the son? Guest guest
Dear Jagmeet, I recall Sanjay-ji saying on the recordings from the Ukiah conference last year that when it comes to curses, the graha dristi of Saturn on the cursed planet, Sun in the case of Pitrishapa, is the result of causing sorrow, the aspect of mars is for causing anger, and the aspect of Rahu is the result of causing shock. The aspect of at least 2 of these on the karaka will cause Pitri Shaapa, and if the respective house and lord are also afflicted, ( 9th for father) the curse will be very difficult to remove. So, I agree with Sudharsan and Ramdas-ji that not performing last rites is not the only way to incur Pitru dosha. Honoring and respecting the father or other male elders in this birth will also be of great benefit. Sanjay-ji also gives the remedies, in addition to shraddha, as feeding Brahmins, funding and arranging a marriage or donating a cow or Bhagavad Gita in charity. Sanjay-ji has given specific combinations that are the result of not performing last rites of the father in VRA as the conjunction or aspect of Saturn with the nodes in a visible sign, while the same in invisible sign is the result of not performing last rites of the mother. It's all in VRA if you have that book. Kind regards, Karen
