Guest guest
Dear respected Gurujis, I have a question, I faintly remember reading a post here sometime back, as to when a gemstone is prescribed for a native and when mantras, propitiations will be effective in which case, gemstones are not recommended. I also remember reading somewhere that how effective mantras/worship can be depends on a native's 5th house of Purva-punya and that if the 5th house is strong, then mantras can be of immediate effect and if not, then mantras usually don't give results for a really long time, and sometimes not in this birth. Is this correct? I really believe in the view that mantras, worship are done for personal betterment, since our current birth is based on past deeds, and worship, prayers make us better people in this birth thereby we do good/better deeds which favors good future births and eventual emancipation. However, like all (or most , I'm also interested in worship for the sake of better results with certain areas when needed, and hence really interested in knowing how to find out if mantras are effective for a chart or gemstones are needed for a chart? Could someone clarify please. Warmly, Jayashree
Guest guest
If a native's fifth house or its lord is stronger, mantras of all kind can be helpful to the native there is really no need for the Gem stone as a remedy. Guest guest
Dear Ramaniji, I think my question was not clear enough. I think I read a long time ago, probably in an article by Mr. Rohini Ranjan at Boloji.com regarding mantras being effective if the 5th house is strong. But my question basically arose after seeing the posts on debilitated and retrograde planets. My lagna lord Saturn ® placed in 4th kendra in Rasi (Taurus) is debilitated in Navamsa, due to which many people have told me to wear a big Blue Sapphire, however, that is something I can't afford due to various reasons. Also, I think my 5th house which carries only some 22 bindus in SAV is weak. I don't know about my 5th lord. Initially I formatted the question differently, addressing whether I need a Blue Sapphire or mantras might help me well instead, but changed it since it sounded more to be a reading request. I was/am basically trying to figure whether my chart has a promise for strengthening weak planets by mantras alone. So I'm trying to find out if i) 5th house's strength determines whether mantras would be effective or ii) Any other factors besides 5th house's strength make a native's mantras effective, without needing gemstones. I was/am not clear which are the factors that one needs to check in a chart to find whether mantras will be effective so that gemstones are not needed? Guest guest
Om Gurave NamahDear Jayashree One does not need gemstones to strengthen the faith in mantra or make it more effective. In fact it is vice versa. That gemstone is a piece of mud lying around and of no value until it is infused with life with the mantras. The stones idols are made of have no meaning until they are carved into idols of gods and infused with the pranas of the mantra. Forget all this and forge ahead with a sincere prayer to Jagannatha. He takes care of all, and if you have faith in a simple mantra like Hare Rama Krishna, then say this every morning and your life will change.Best Regards,Sanjay Rathhttp://srath.com - Jayashree vedic astrology Monday, September 22, 2003 4:55 PM [vedic astrology] Re: Is wearing gemstones mandatory for weak planets? Guest guest
Dear Sanjay, Good to see your post. /however my worm-cruel comp. problem seems much worse now!/ I am so glad you expressed a firm standing on this so many times raised, used and abused issue, in a clear and succinct manner as usual, thank you so much for that! I offer me as an example- only faith can help. Faith in God /and one lives in our heart/ is a MAGIC, in literal non-metaphorical sense- faith energizes our thought process to a such an unbelievable extent, miracles do happen all the times. Banal example I had today when thought came to mind- I felt an electrical shock-like- speedy impulse throughout my body, was reminded how powerful the thought is/and WORD, for that matter- 'married' in mantra prayer/ . I've always believed faith is the greatest blessing in our life. Can we say that God loves our infatuation-like devotion to such an extent that even 'destiny' can be changed in some major areas of our lives, if truly "passionately" /sorry I cannot find the right word to describe that feeling of exaltation faith takes us to/ if strongly invested. When tough times come, we all tend to seek help from outside, and I do that myself- have pearls, y.sapphire, would have worn them if worked. My understanding is that stone can help IF it helps us elevate our faith- it's miserable to think 'put the stone' and get rid of problem /that misery smart profit-driven vedic-gem jeweler avoid, not failing to manipulate those in pain by rising their-seen that/. Thanks so much Sanjay, you are the best! /offering 'stones' would make you rich, I am so happy you don't, I wish you richness in your own terms, and success in your Mission. Guest guest
Dear Sanjayji, Yes, you have indeed pointed out the only right answer to this question. Well, but I'm just wondering since I've read even really pious people wearing gemstones and speaking highly about them.... Anyways, in my case, it is simple since I have no plans for wearing any, since I need to take care not to loose them after wearing.
