Dear Tanvir,

Namaste,

Here is what my understanding of Aurdha Pada from teaching/

readings from my Guru Ji, Sanjay Ji and Narasimha Ji and other

classical texts.

Arudha means "MOUNT" and refers to the IMAGE of a sign

falling on another due to "reflection of the rays emanating

from it and being reflected by its lord.

Keeping the reflection in view, the Karaka (Significator)

can be taken to be the Moon. Count from a sign to its lord.

Then count as many signs from the lord to arrive at the

ARUDHA PADA. For example, if the Lagna Lord is in the fifth

house, then count five signs from the Lagna lord to arrive

at the ninth house. This ninth house becomes the Arudha Pada

for the Lagna.

The term Arudha Pada is also commonly called PADA LAGNA or

ARUDHA LAGNA. In this manner we can compute the Arudha Pada

for all the houses and these are called

* A2-Dhana Pada (2nd)

* A3-Bhratripada (3rd),

* A4-Matri Pada (4th),

* A5-Mantrapada (5th),

* A6-Satrupada (6th),

* A7-Dara Pada (7th),

* A8-Roga pada (8th),

* A9-Bhagyapada (9th),

* A10-Rajyapada (10th),

* A11-Labhapada (11th) and

* A12-Upapada or UL (12th).

In other words, we can say that, Lagna shows true self and

arudha lagna shows perceived self. Arudha lagna (AL) has to do

with "maya" or illusions of this world.

In essence, arudhas deal with perceptions. They deal with

things and concepts that have to do with perceptions. On the

contrary, lagna deals with what is real, true and intrinsic.

For more detailed discussion on this subject, I would suggest

you to refer Narasimha Ji's book where he has devoted a section

on this topic and also BPHS.

Namaste Nemani Jee.

I have been trying long to get all the books authored by PVR Jee and Rath jee,

but always failed in my attempts. Howvere the fruit of these efforts is I have

'Narayana Dasa' and a few books by BV Raman. Soon I would try to make some more

efforts to get them.

I am aware of the facts you have kindly mentioned in your post. Because I have

read some posts on Arudha and also the help file in Jagannatha Hora Lite

software. I thank you for your post, still. But I guess I could not put the

question in a right way, actually I am trying to understand how really it does

manifest? One of my important question is, does Arudha use only in Rashi Dasha,

or also in Vimsottari ? Suppose, my A9 falls in cancer. Thus, will the effect

manifest in only the cancer dasha or also in the vimsottari of Moon (Lord of

cancer) or the planets in cancer? What does it mean, what kind of result can be

expected then?Could you please put a chart and show how it is actually working -

it would be the best then. I would be grateful.

Best wishes,

Tanvir
