to exalted". I am however not sure about the other combinations like exalted

retro if it is equivalent to debilitation and if Vargottama is equivalent to

being in own house!

Martin Schulman in the book Karmic ASTROLOGY Retrogrades and reincarnation mentions

Retrograde Saturn in Aries is bringing into his past consciousness all he has

learned about himself in past lives as he experienced the ways of dealing with

responsibility. As such he tends to be firmly independent and does not like

others to see any weakness in him. Whatever is important to him in life h

eachieves on his own for he has learned how to pull his ideas together and

direct his energies towards a purpose. This configuration adds power and

strength to teh horoscope as the inner fortitude of the retrograde Saturn

steadies the Arian ambition and gives it meaning. The individaul eventually

becomes a king of father to himself insofar as he is his own best guide through

life. As he matures, self confidence becomes strong and the usual Arian displays

of ego are less pronounced. The individaul bases his sense of self-worth on all

ha has built within him in the past. At some time in a former life he was

forced to stand on his own two feet at a very young age. As a result, he

comes into life with a strong sense of how important it is to experience self-develpoment.

This placement also tends to add patience and consideration to what might

otherwise to be an impulsive nature. He will spend his entire life trying to

become his own master.

Karmically, he is using th eformed strength of past life through the house

ruled by Aries in the chart. And it will be crystallized ideas, philosophies,

and judgements that have structured themselves in his retrograde Saturn that

will eventually become his tower of strength.

Dear Rameshji,

I had given the Shlokas from an ancient classic but the modern authors say these

dictums have to be observed and then come to a conclusion,.now as you said Guru

® in Makara has to behave like as if he is exalted.But my opinion is we have

to look for its dispositor Shani's position also.One observation is

difficulties in begetting children and one become exceedingly rich if Guru in

retrogression occupies Makara Rasi.

my opinion from my experiences so far [not systematic research though]

 

1. retro + debilitated = exaltation to some degree

2. retro + exalted = less strength, weak almost like fallen, but little stronger

than fallen actually.

 

however matter #1 (retro+fallen) the planet cant be really "trusted" for

"sensitive matters" like progeny, marriage etc. but material wise it will be

pretty okay. so i wholely support ramadas jee here.

 

ps. another observation is that, sometimes retro planets manifest things too

fast and sometimes too slow. crazy nature, cant be trusted...

I had given the Shlokas from an ancient classic but the modern authors say these

dictums have to be observed and then come to a conclusion,.now as you said Guru

® in Makara has to behave like as if he is exalted.But my opinion is we have

to look for its dispositor Shani's position also.One observation is

difficulties in begetting children and one become exceedingly rich if Guru in

retrogression occupies Makara Rasi.

ie.,Budha ® in Mena Rasi.But a general interpretation is in this case will be

your family might have incurred grief on account of your co-born or depending on

What about the nodes??Nodes are always retograted!!!!!!What about they are

retrograted+debliated??But people are having different opinions about the nodes

exaltation and debliation.

It's new for me that Retro+Debiliation gives some

effects of exaltation. now I will have to re-study my

chart. Seems to be a bit complicated to me know. As I

have leo-lagna and sun exalted.

 

Now saturn (6L and 7L) and Mercury (2L+11L) both are

retro+deb in my chart. so lord of 5 houses will give

result of exaltation and that too

ruling..different..things..

 

well its' complicated for me now..but will try to

analyze from new reference...as learnt new concepts

from you people.

see how this explanation sounds...

 

1. exaltation is called 'uccha' - "high" in original sanskrit language.

'exaltation' is not the actual translation, it just means the idea to some

degree. 'uccha' is the authentic term for this.

 

2. exaltation has a pick point where the planet is deeply exalted. we are taught

that as much the planet goes closer to the pick point, as much strength it gets.

in deepest exaltation point, it is of the maximum strength of its exaltation.

 

3. so we can say that it is like a slope/road going upwords which has the

highest height at the pick point. [deepest exaltation.]

 

4. so a planet in exaltation sign is "going upwards" and upwards until it

reaches the highest point in the slope.

 

5. similarly a planet in fallen sign "goes downwards" in the slope.

 

6. now retro planets are going backwards as seen from earth.

 

7. so if a planet goes backward in that slope [where it goes upwards in forward

motion], it will rather go downwards in the backward motion.

 

7. thus the retro+exaltation=fallen [almost fallen as i said] can be explained.

 

8. similarly imagine a slope where a forward moving object will go downwards.

now if the object moves backwards in that slope, it will move upwards.

 

9. thus, retro+fallen=almost exalted can be explained.

 

this is how i view this.

Is my understanding correct that in Muharta first cycle of Vipat,

Praytak,Naidhana give maximum bad effects and the second give less bad effects

and and third cycle do not give any bad effects?Can we use the same principal

in Natal chart?

Also please find an attched chart with deb,retro Jup with Retro,own house

Sat.She has already gone through the Jup and Sat dasa.How do you think the

dasas would have gone at a material level?How you go about interpretting will

be a good learning excercise because I will be able to verify the events.Also

my

opinion from my experiences so far [not systematic research though]

 

1.

retro + debilitated = exaltation to some degree

2.

retro + exalted = less strength, weak almost like fallen, but little stronger

than fallen actually.

 

however

matter #1 (retro+fallen) the planet cant be really "trusted" for

"sensitive matters" like progeny, marriage etc. but material wise it

will be pretty okay. so i wholely support ramadas jee here.

 

ps.

another observation is that, sometimes retro planets manifest things too fast

and sometimes too slow. crazy nature, cant be trusted...

If I remember right it is retrograde which gives results similar to exalted

planet, and not debilitated retrograde planet.Debilitated retrograde planet

causes Rajyoga if in dusthana. Could you quote the Classic text which says

retrograde debilitated planet causes rajyoga please? This would help me learn

more about debilitated retrograde palnets.

Usually the Indian astrology texts mention that the debilitated planet if

retrograde it can act as the exalted planet. One example for this Mother

Therasa being the Capricorn ascendant she had Saturn debilitated and

retrograded and got the Nobel prize on the Saturn dasa.

Martin Schulman in the book Karmic ASTROLOGY Retrogrades and reincarnation mentions

Retrograde Saturn in Aries is bringing into his past consciousness all he has

learned about himself in past lives as he experienced the ways of dealing with

responsibility. As such he tends to be firmly independent and does not like

others to see any weakness in him. Whatever is important to him in life h

eachieves on his own for he has learned how to pull his ideas together and

direct his energies towards a purpose. This configuration adds power and

strength to teh horoscope as the inner fortitude of the retrograde Saturn

steadies the Arian ambition and gives it meaning. The individaul eventually

becomes a king of father to himself insofar as he is his own best guide through

ha has built within him in the past. At some time in a former life he was

I should have given more information. Navtara Chakra is listed on page 112 in

Vimsottari dasa chapter (Sanjayji's book) and the example being discussed is

JFK's career wherein Rahu dasa is described as good because it is Sampat dasa.

I think, Sampat in this example is checked from Lagna Nakshatra. Janma

Nakshatra, I presume is Moon's nakshatra. If I am making some mistake, kindly

correct me.

Yes,you can try interpreting charts during the Vimshottari Dasa periods.If the

Dasa lord is in a Sampath or Kshema or Sadhaka or Maitra or Parama Maitra

Tara,you may get almost good benefical results.but ofcourse you have to see the

Antara Lords also whether they are in Shubha Tara to Janma Nakshatra and

interpret the results.I also suggest you to see the planet's Shastyamsha deity

and then you see you may be able to interpret ina better way.

I should have given more information. Navtara Chakra is listed on page 112 in

Vimsottari dasa chapter (Sanjayji's book) and the example being discussed is

JFK's career wherein Rahu dasa is described as good because it is Sampat dasa.

I think, Sampat in this example is checked from Lagna Nakshatra. Janma

Nakshatra, I presume is Moon's nakshatra. If I am making some mistake, kindly

correct me.

Dear Rameshji,

Yes,you can try interpreting charts during the Vimshottari Dasa periods.If the

Dasa lord is in a Sampath or Kshema or Sadhaka or Maitra or Parama Maitra

Tara,you may get almost good benefical results.but ofcourse you have to see the

Antara Lords also whether they are in Shubha Tara to Janma Nakshatra and

interpret the results.I also suggest you to see the planet's Shastyamsha deity

and then you see you may be able to interpret ina better way.
