Guest guest
Hello, I have been following the thread you have initiated by asking the question - Is astrology vedic? You should never ask such question to people with strong faiths and they will not digest the idea that their faiths are being questioned. People who explore such questions belong to different category. I was haunted by the issues such as wheather astrology makes any sense at all? Being a Physics student my enquiry started with mind fully conditioned that how can planets have "an effect" on us. Today after 20 years of study, truth revealed is much different than what is believed by astrologers. For example, a planet "having" an "effect" is best example of how the language we use molds our beliefs. You may find it interesting to read works of Ludwig Wittgenstein. At the same time, I have come across some really good astrological research done by people in the west, for example, Michael Gauqueline, Alphee Lavoie. You will notice that the astrology that makes sense is much different than sun sign columns as well as what is practiced and preached in India today. I have accepted that astrology works in certain boundaries which I have summarized at circular-reality/ and hence I am unwilling to dismiss astrology as a whole. At the most I will dismiss astrologers who make predictions and run away when the prediction fails miserably... I hope this helps. Guest guest
Dear Gurus, Rajeev Upadhye, AmolMander & Rajeev Kumar, "Satyameva Jayate!" means "truth always prevails". I hope we all being followers of this serene vedic wisdom believe in the above words. I am sorry that I am interrupting this thread yet would like to keep my views as follows (since I am not biased I hope nobody would mind this): I believe this thread is going very well Mr. Rajeev Kumar has very good knowledge about "Vedas", yet "Vedas= " are not the only authority of Hinduism vis-à-vis Astrology If "Vedas" would have been the final authority to decide on any subjects which were/are prevailing then there would not have been any further development in "Hinduism" i.e. other scriptures and other sciences The copies of "Vedas" available today may or may not be in their original written form. Therefore, very strong possibility that they have been translated according to individual/group gains from time to time If "Vedas" would have been the only and final authority to decide = the fate of anything then there would have been no emergence of any other subject, saints, gods etc. to save humanity from the clutches of evil We must note that whenever evil crept in the society a new thought= process came in light i.e. religion and the ones with strong fundamentals are alive till date Because of time constraint I am not able to give you all the points right now yet I feel the thread is going right to come out with "truth" nothing but the "truth". There is no need to panic about your beliefs, fundamentals and the outcome etc. "Truth always prevails". I think both "Rajeev Kumar" & "Amolmander" are perfect match to each- other to come out with the best possible outcome. One is Libra by name and another is Aries by name perfectly 180 degrees away from each other. With sincere regards, Prakash Kandpal vedic astrology, Rajeev Upadhye <yuyutsu@v...> wrote: > Hello, > > I have been following the thread you have initiated by asking the question - Is astrology vedic? > > You should never ask such question to people with strong faiths and they will not digest the idea that their faiths are being questioned.
