Guest guest
Dear Swee, You are right about the north and east in general being the best directions (especially for entrances to the house). But for sleeping the Master bedroom is supposed to be in the SW because it the Vastu Purusha Mandala that is where the feet are and it is considered to be where the strength is and where the dominant people (the breadwinner)in the dwelling should sleep. In a business the administrators or owners could have their office in the SW. (But south is the worst for entrances.) It is good for your head, however, to be in a direction so that when you sit up in the morning you face north or east, so your head should be in the south or west - I think I misswrote about the west to Rao and put east. (Sorry, Rao!) The bed itself should even be in the SW part of the room with heavier furniture in the western and southern areas and lighter furniture in the north and east. The center of the room ideally should be free as it is the part for Brahma. The children and other people can sleep in the north or east (although I have had some experts tell me west). Oh, and the feet should not face the door, which I believe is the same in Feng Shui and your head should not be under an overhead object (a shelf or exposed beam). Hope to be corrected if gurus have other opinions!
