It is said that Emerald is not recommended to newly weds since it reduces sexual desire, query here is whether Emerald is wrong for people in love to wear, does it effect compatibility etc between people in love. 2. Since Ven gets debilitated in Virgo - is this the reason why it is said that newly weds shouldnt wear emerald as Ven gets deb here. 3. Before wearing the stone should one recite the mantra of Mercury. Some astrologers in bombay prescribe reciting mantras of the concerned planet for say some 16,000 times etc to energise it before wearing it and then dipping in milk or Ganga Jal (water) and then using some incense sticks and then wearing it at the right muhurtha. 4. How long does it take for a stone to give the desired effect or does it depend on the right dasa coming. Effects of gems would be modified by current Dashas and Transit. Chandrashekhar.
