Guest guest
Dear Tanvir, although knowing your recommendation I have looked the link you gave and find couple of things that I just cannot agree with. I am studying both subjects (Vedic and Western astrology) for 8 years now and still I am not 100 % convinced that vedic astrology is so much better as some people talk .All I see is a great mass of rules that people even the most wisest ones have some problem applying. Not saying against those rules but their complexity can hardly be called practical and easy. Maybe some things are just to changed over the course of time to call that what we call today 'astrology" be totaly pure in its origin. Two of the excellent (my experience) predicting systems come from western astrology and those are solar arcs and secondary progressions in addition to transits. The reason because I think that is that I can clearly explain (and predict) with my limited knowledge things from my life with that system of prediction and fail to explain some dasas and apply them to my life and lives of other people I know. I saw many times the value of Vedic astrology but for me that wasn't a factor to misjudge other systems of predictions. I am sure that I am not supreme master of astrology or something like that BUT I am an open minded student and did not start to learn with prejudice about any of these systems. Now...about tropical zodiac. I always see more difference between someone who has Moon on 29 degrees of some sign and someone who has Moon on 1 degree of next sign in tropical zodiac than from their counterparts from sideral Zodiac. People tend to judge about western astrology but never make any real effort to look in all possibilities that it can give. I don't say this is better or that is better all I say is that I have seen western astrology working hundreds of times and sometimes even better than vedic astrology. After all I am a member of this group and enjoy in some of discussions taking place here but I am not glad to read such judgements. On the other hand I agree that one big thing in Vedic astrology are remedial measures although I think that most of the predictions are just possibilities that need our effort to materialize so our behavior and moral are the best remedial measure. I second Mr Jay to request Narasimha Jee to react about the article. I am sorry if I hurt anyone's feelings but that rubbish named 'Western astrology' is what giving bad name to Astrology/Vedic Astrology. On the other hand it is also unfortunate to see some strange, "one page astrology rules" are going fine as new/successful method of astrology and that is also being called 'Vedic Astrology' and creating a huge team of supporters/practitioners. People are beaing cheated and losing faith on the pure Vedic Astrology. Now I think of some ideas to make money and call it 'Vedic Astrology' and start selling expensive products claiming they give all round happiness and make the world heaven for the people whoever use them. World is really getting better day by day... people asleep doing research on consciousness, talking about things they know 'zero' about. Few months ago I had met some people who say western astrology is more scientific (Really?) than Vedic that is why I was forced by myself to write something on this - http://www.geocities.com/planetaryastro/indianastro.htm Hon'ble members who like Western Astrology please do not read it since it might offend them to hear the bitter truth.
