To clarify myself, I am not the moderator of the list, but one of those interested students.

Also I am just a student, probably not as good as an astrologer as you are to make predictions.

If you think everyone who is predicting here is doing so for boasting his ego, I

cannot agree with that. There are many in this forum who do it for helping out

the needful.

Per, Adi Sankara himself, Jyotish is a Vedanga and is the light that will pull

you out of darkness if properly used. The concept of Ishta Devatha I think is

for taking the individual towards self realization/moksha.This is just one of

the many Astrological concepts and I can cite many like this which show you the

same spiritual direction. Whether you want to go with Adi Sankara or Abdul

Kalam, the choice is yours.

Someone who is hungry does not want to listen to spiritualism etc. He wants food

first. Similarly someone who is in trouble wants to get out of the trouble first

and then think of other things. Here is where Astrology helps him, saying that

he would be OK by so and so year, but he needs to keep faith in GOD and do some

prayer/remedy to appease the deity thus starting his spiritual journey. From

there on it is the individual's karma which would decide where his journey

would end.

I can go ON and ON. But my point here was, please do not discourage students who

are sincerely interested in this science. Not that they would be perturbed by

your opinion, but we just don't want to scare away the novices who get carried

away easily.

"Others may different opinions" as Guru Chandrasekhar always says, and I am

using his quote here, hope he does not mind :-)

Sorry if I have hurt any of your personal feelings in this endeavor to justify

the existence of the Divine Science.

YES ASTROLOGY is a divine science but it is one of the lower Vidyas.Astrology

should convince a person about the impermanence of the world ,the transitory

nature of the world and should lead one to the path of SELF REALISATION or

BRAHM VIDYA.A person should give up astrology and take up to spiritual sadhana

to realize ones real nature.THE GOAL AND PURPOSE OF LIFE.Sitting and making

predictions about other peoples life only inflates the ego and leads one to

darkness. I have myself made number of correct predictions and some of them

made in public which can be verified by Senior level executives.But I am now

totally disgusted with astrology and prefer Spiritual Sadhana to to a

meaningless study of Rahu and Sani. Moreover astrology was developed by

Maharishis like PARASHAR and it is being practiced by ordinary people who are

Ego centric,greedy and lost in darkness themselves.And also there is no

scientific basis established for astrology.Eve!

n DR Abdul Kalaam the the great scientist in his auto biography says he was

overwhelmed by the Great Swami Sivanada , But Prof Kallam clearly dismisses

astrology as having no basis.

Dear Sudeep Suri,

If you are not interested in Astrology,then why you became a member of this

group ? I have already written in these columns to you that you go through the

archives of this group where many learned Astrolgers made some analysis of

various charts and gave predictions which became true also.Another important

thing is that this List is not for giving predictions but for learning and

exchange of Jyotish Jnaan among the members.Sometimes some members want to help

some people who are in their difficult times and as a humanity ,helping is done

by analysing some horoscopes and remedies prescribed.
