Hare Rama Krishna

Dear John,

It says:

"sutasthe janma"

Now using Katayapadi Varga:

Su=7, ta=6 =>67 => 67/12 = 7.

So this is a reference to the Arudha falling in the 7th.

Ja=8, Ma=5 => 58 => 58/12 = 10.

So that Arudha should fall in the 10th house.

[vedic astrology] Parasara vs. Jaimini versions of Arudha Lagna

Dear Jyotishis,Thank you (especially for Gili who first noticed mystatement) for

explaining to me the exceptions indetermining the Arudha Lagna, according to

Parasara.However, based on Jaimini Sutram, Chapter 1, slokanumber 32 states

that "If the lord of a sign is in the seventh from it, that very sign

becomes its arudha"It appears that we have discovered a point of researchin

Dear John,

Please go through Sri Sanjay ji's book on Upadesa Sutras of Jaimini Maharshi .In

page No.15,Shloka 1.1.32 says SUTASTHE JANMA meaning if the lord of a sign is in

7th from it ,then the 10th house becomes Arudha..See as per KATAPAYADI Varga,the

first letter SA give 7 value and THA gives 6 value,so it becomes 76,reverse of

this is 67 divided by 12 ,the remainder gives 7,Again JA will give us a value

of 8 and MA will give a value of 5 and it becomes 85 and reverse of that is 58

divided by 12 ,the remainder gives 10.The next stanza is from Parasara and it

also tells the same the same as 10 th should considered as Arudha if lord of a

sign is in 7th.

I hope this clarifies your doubt.

With best regards,

Ramadas Rao.

Om Gurave Namah

Dear Visti & John,

Sutaste means 'placed in 7th house' - It is Suta + ste, you missed out the

last part. Jaimini can be tricky. So, if the planet is in the 7th house, the

Arudha is in the 10th house. This is easy and exact as per Parasara as well.

At the feet of Guru Pandita Kasinatha,

I remain,

Sanjay Rath
