Dear friends,

I want to Know what is the difference between Bhava Lagna and

Ascendent point. Is Ascendent not mid point of first Bhava? If not

how do we calculate Start ,Mid and End points for each Bhava. Please

explain. Thank you.....vvrao

JAYA JAGANNATHA!

Dear Venkata,

Namaste.

Janma lagna is the point of the eastern horizon, and as you may know from

Ganita, each sign has its own rising time. However the movement of the

Bhava Lagna is regular. It coincides with the Sun's position at sunrise

(Udaya Lagna) and passes one Bhava (30 degrees) exactly in two hours. Thus

at times Bhava Lagna may be ahead or behing the Janma Lagna by severasl

degrees. Now for regular houses we take the Janma Lagna as the midpoint of

the house. I won't get into detail reg. house systems as you can read about

it on my website as well. Sufficient would be to clarify that the Janma

Lagna and Bhava Lagna are two different points.

Yours,
