Raveendra,

Yes, the Ketu dasha can make an individual be a

sanyasin. However, other combinations in the chart

should also exist for one to renounce the world. It

is said that four planets in conjunction in one house

can make one a sanyasin.

This practice is more acceptable in India than in

other parts of the world. In the USA, an equivalent

of a sanyasin would be a person who remains celebate

after death of a spouse or a divorce.

Among jyotishis in India, there is a theory that Ketu

represents the entry of our past karma into this

lifetime. For this reason, an individual would not be

able to accomplish much in worldly terms during the

dasha of Ketu. However, Ketu can provide intuition,

insight, and introspection.

Rahu on the other hand represents the activation of

past karma into this present incarnation. As such, an

individual can accomplish much work and activity

during the Rahu mahadasha.

This theory appears to apply also in the conjunction

of these shady planets with the grahas, particularly

the Moon. For example, the Rahu/Moon conjunction can

make a person be attached to the world, thus making

the person compulsive and emotionally explosive. If

this conjunction happens in the 1st house and malefic

planets are in trikonas, the person can experience the

appearance and disturbance of ghosts. This particular

combination has earned the name of Pisacha Yoga.

These are some of the reasons why most jyotishis do

not consider this conjunction beneficial.

On the other hand, the Ketu/Moon conjunction can make

a person psychic.

Regards,

John R.
