---Om Brihaspataye Namah---

Dear Jyotishas,

An interesting article from todays Hindustan times. Any comments?

regards

Hari

---Forwarded message begins here---

Looking for a celestial solution to your earthly problems? Try

voicing them. A Lucknow astrologer claims to have a vision of past,

present and future as soon as his clients open their mouth.

Pandit Charan Tripathi is in fact as extraordinary as the

predictions he makes. An Assistant Commissioner of Trade Tax posted

in Lucknow, there are no charges for availing his services. But that

doesn't mean a beneficiary gets away scot free - for every forecast

that comes true you pay back Tripathi by writing 'Om Namah Shivaya'.

A full 24600 times over.

The exercise is not as quixotic as it may seem. "This is the magical

figure that a person is likley to breathe in a day. And this is how

I extract my fees," says Tripathi.

The bureaucrat-turned-astrologer claims he has mastered the art of

reading voices through 'siddhi'. And a demonstration of his prowess

is amazing to say the least. No horoscopes are consulted. All that

you are required to do is speak in his presence - in clear, firm

tones.

According to Tripathi, the rationale behind the technique is quite

simple. "When a person speaks, his voice evokes visions of his past,

present and future. But you need to be an adept to be able to read

them.

"It is an ancient tradition of impeccable origins. King Dashrath,

father of Lord Rama, and Prthviraj Chauhan are among great

historical personages who could make predictions based on voice", he

says.

Tripathi has gone ahead and committed many of his foresights to

paper. In a book called 'Clinton Y' published on March 22, 1999 he

predicted an attack upon America in September 2001. The rest as they

say is history.

And he has been remarkably accurate in his domestic forecasts too.

Tripathi's book 'Bharatansh', released in July 1997, correctly put

the assumption of office by Prime Minister Atal Bihar Vajpayee at

March 19, 1998. He says he made the prediction after listening to

the BJP leader's voice on radio and TV.

Tripathi is ready to go out on a limb to prove how good he is. In a

sensational revelation, the astrologer insists that Al-Qaeda chief

Osama bin Laden would return to haunt the world in February 2004.

According to him: "I listened to his voice in a news clip and I am

sure he's not dead."

Despite public ridicule, Tripathi also claims to have predicted

former First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton's ascendancy as America's

first woman President much before her emergence as a Senator and

strong political contender for the post.
