Maharishi Vedic Astrology method of gem recommendation

has anyone on the list taken the Maharishi Vedic Astrology course? I

would like to learn the method of gem recommendation they teach.

in my own case, when I had my chart done and interpreted by the

Maharishi Jyotishi, the Maharishi Jyotishi recommended diamond and blue

sapphire. I am Tula lagna, and of course diamond is the stone

associated with venus, who rules Tula lagna. also, in the chart of

anyone with Tula lagna, saturn rules the 4th and 5th house, making it

yogakaraka for Tula lagna, whose stone is blue sapphire, hence the

recommendation by the Maharishi Jyotishi to also wear blue sapphire.

so, it would seem their strategy is to strengthen functional benefics.

I know some people say that it is OK to strengthen planets which are in

not in good position or not functional benefics, but I very much trust

Maharishiji because of the results of my personal use of his meditation

technique, and I know that he worked with and instructed and refined the

knowledge and methods of the Maharishi Jyotishis before allowing them to

recommend gemstones, so I am very much inclined to follow his direction

regarding gemstone recommendation also.

in any chart the primary recommendation would be to wear the stone

associated with the plantary ruler of the lagna, and in any chart where

there is a yogakaraka planet the the secondary recommendation would be

to wear the stone associated with the yogakaraka planet, but what about

the lagnas which have no yogakara planet? what secondary stone would be

recommended in those cases?

Hare rama krishna,

hello Richard,

I took the maharishi meditation course and mantra for Tm.

It helped me a lot. But then I also learnt Yoga, pranayaam, did the art of

living course founded by sri sri ravishankar -to date- ihave not got my chart

done. I have tau lagna and not much into gems- I have not learned astrology

that much but just picking the thread of a discussion on gems in this forum- if

I remember it rightly- sanjay ji said that the gems of dussthana lords should

not be worn- Promptly I took off the diamonds That I was wearing.

Even I have been wanting to ask about sapphire- since sat. is a yogakaraka for

me but since its in the 8th house- I don't know. .Sh. P.S. ramanarayana is very

knowledgable here withregard to gems.

Maybe he can help you.

om prabhu shanti,

AUM GURUBYO NAMAH

Dear Anu,

Chapter VI in the book "VEDIC REMEDIES IN ASTROLOGY " by Sanjay Rath throws

light on Gemology. Gurus of SJC are all well versed in Gemology. i am not a

Guru. i only know that "LALITHA NAVARATNA MALA" sung by Sage Agastya gives

instant relief. i also believe that the realisation of Chaitanya within makes

one a gem in the field of spirituality. Is not the realisation of Chaitanya far

superior to realisation of a stone as gem?

"MATHA JAYA OM LALITHAAMBHIGAYE".

Best wishes.

thank you for replying Anu.

I also took one of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar's Art of Living courses, where

you learn the breathing technique (can't remember what it is called),

and also an intermediate course. I don't do the breathing technique, as

I find the TM instruction to be adequate for my needs, and too many

techniques seem to make me feel resistant to doing any of them - it is

just too much for me, personally. I do the hatha yoga recommended by

the TM organization, pranayam before meditation, the meditation

technique itself, the sidhi techniques taught by Maharishiji, and after

all this I listen to the audio recordings of the 9th and 10th mandalas

made available to us and recommended by Maharishiji. that is enough for

me, and has very much a clarifying effect on my awareness and peaceful

influence in my life.

what is tau lagna?

the dussthana houses are 3rd, 6th, 8th, and 12th houses, and are related

to suffering. that must be why it is recommended not to strenghten the

planets ruling these houses by wearing gems associated with their

planetary rulers.

however, in my own chart, where Tula, or Libra, is lagna, and venus is

the planetary ruler of Tula, venus also is planetary ruler of Vrishabha,

or Taurus, which in the chart of one with Tula lagna is the 8th house, a

dussthana. yet the Maharishi Jyotishi recommended that I wear diamond,

the stone associated with venus, or shukra, the ruler of both lagna and

a dussthana. I must conclude that the rulership of lagna makes the

planet ruling the laganaso beneficial that strenghtening that planet, in

spite of co-rulership of a dussthana, does not have an overall negative

effect.

my understanding at this point is that it is beneficial to strengthen

the lagna lord and yogakaraka lord by wearing the stones associated with

them, even if the lagna lord is co-owner of a dussthana, and even if

they are not well placed in the chart. perhaps others on the list have

more knowledge and can clarify this point.

I am most interested to learn the correct method of gem recommendation,

as I am associated with a lady who owns a jewelry shop near where I

live, and we hope to offer the service of correct gem recommendation to

our customers so that they may derive benefit in their lives.

thank you again for replying to my question.

Jai Guru Dev, Om Shanthi

~ Om Namah Shivaya ~

Hi,

I have a book called "Sampoorna Ratna Vigyan" by Manoj

Publications and it has approximately 300 pages and it

discusses about 200 stones.

This is the most suitable book on gems, I have found

so far. This book also gives the different

combinations, positions of planets placed in house,

different lagnas and different case studies.

Also this book tells about sub-stones, way of cleaning

/ Purifying the gem, recommened day, mantra, no. of

repetitions for mantra. This book also covers the

medicinal value of gems, preparing medicines in form

of Bhasma etc.

In short this is the most complete book on gems, I had

seen till now.

According to this book, if one has leo lagna, he can

wear Yellow Sapphire as it lord of 5th House and 8th

house, but still the writer recommends wearing Yellow

Sapphire in combination with Ruby.

So is it advisable to wear Yellow Sapphire by

Leo-Lagna if Jupiter is not placed in Dusthanas.

Kind regards,

Neeraj Gupta

Dear Richard,

I think it is appropriate to wear gem of Ascendant lord only if his

other house is not a Dusthana. Yogakaraka should be the first

preference, when owning both Angle and trine. Like in your case Diamond

representing Venus owning Ascendant and also being trishadaypati, might

not fit in with beneficence.

Of course others might have different views.

Dear Neeraj,

Could you let us know the author of the book. Is he from Jaipur?

Re: [vedic astrology] Maharishi Vedic Astrology method of gem recommendation

SARVAM GYANANANDAMAYAM JAGAT

Astrologically yours,

Hare rama krishna,

dear chandrashekhar ji,

pranaam,

Wearing a diamond for venus as it is the lord of dussthana- and mine is posited

in MK sthana is not recommended.I got that right I think.

Now how about a yogakaraka like saturn as happens to be my case- being in the

8th- though karaka bhava nasa dosn't apply to sat. in the 8th- would it be

right to wear a sapphire? maybe itt can help mre with some health problems.

wouldn't the significations of the9th house suffer and how about the 10th house

-its MT.8this 11th- hara house from the tenth. its just a thought. I seem to be

going around in circles. I've not read VRA and I'm not at all conversant with

the gem wearing aspect of astrology.

Re: [vedic astrology] Maharishi Vedic Astrology method of gem recommendation

Dear Richard,I think it is appropriate to wear gem of Ascendant lord only if his

other house is not a Dusthana. Yogakaraka should be the first preference, when

owning both Angle and trine. Like in your case Diamond representing Venus

owning Ascendant and also being trishadaypati, might not fit in with

beneficence.Of course others might have different views.Chandrashekhar.Richard

Dear Anu,

Wearing yogakaraka's gem is not only right, when he is weakend by being

placed in 8th, I think necessary. It would also help you focus your

mind and not allow you to brod, which you must be in the habit of doing

at present.
