Guest guest
dear all, I was reading up on the files attached here, specifically the wonderful one on arudhapadas by Shri Sanjay Rath. and I have a question regarding this excellent article and the Arudhas. please bear with me and correct me if I am wrong, but if indeed the Arudhas represent maya, and the upapada is the *image* of the husband of the wife (whether it is the lagna or the navamsa chart) then why should we place so much importance on upapada matching? should we not just match the 7th house and the lagna of each chart? Am I being stupid and missing something essential regarding the arudha padas and their true importance? also, re the trine/opp -- the rule that states that -- is it based on kendra/kona logic? if so, going from that, should the square also not apply? many thanks for listening. warm regards, rani. Guest guest
|Hare Rama Krishna| Dear Rani, The Upapada shows the person we will choose to marry, we will choose no other, hence hopefully the Upapada matches with the spouses lagna, otherwise the marriage might not last, and the marriage could be considered as a mistake! Guest guest
|Hare Rama Krishna| Dear Rao, i. First see the stronger of the Upapada and its 7th. ii. The spouses lagna will be in trines or joined the lord of UL/7th, whichever is stronger. iii. The planets in the equvalent trines/or joining the lord, can moderate the specific lagna. iv. You can use the same principle with Darapada and other Arudha Padas. v. Sometimes the spouses lagna doesn't match with the Upapada, instead it matches with the Darapada. These marriages don't last. Guest guest
dear Visti, thanks! I've got two more questions: 1) do these rules also hold for the navamsa chart of each person? as in, can we compare ULs etc of one person's navamsa chart to the other person's navamsa chart? or is this only for the rashi charts of each party? 2) also, one of my original questions was: is the UL/Lagna trine/conj. rule from the kendra/kona logic? as in the gajakesari yoga (moon in kendra from jupiter makes the yoga, not just conjunct)? or is it just those *aspects* -- e.g., the conj. and trine. am I making any sense? thanks very much! rani. vedic astrology, "Visti Larsen" <vishnu@l...> wrote: > |Hare Rama Krishna| > Dear Rao, > i. Whats the difference between Rasi and Navamsa? What should be seen in Rasi and what in Navamsa? 2. Forget kendra's, but do look for similar signs/planets. i.e. if Upapada is in scorpio then possibility of marrying an Aries Lagna is also possible, as they are both lorded by Mars. Guest guest
|Hare Rama Krishna| Dear Rani, Your the student, if the explanation doesn't satisfy you, then its wrong, if not totally absurd. i. The lagna always shows us.. no matter the divisional chart. ii. The Rasi shows our entire life and how events have an immediete effect on our lives. iii. The Varga only shows us in a specific area of life. Its a window to see the results. iv. The Navamsa shows ourselves from the point of view of dharma. i.e. whether we share this dharma with others or not and how we share it. v. The Upapada in Rasi shows how the spouse has an immediete effect on our lives. The Upapada in Navamsa shows how the spouse lives out their own Arudha, regardless of how it may affect us. Theres abit more to this in the view of our own inner-personal giving, but leave that for now. Guest guest
Dear Visti, thank you so much for trying to clear my confusion. what you wrote here makes a lot of sense to me. I know I was thinking in a roundabout way before; not really seeing the arudha pada by itself but thinking of it as just any other bhava. I will have to think more about it. and I will probably have some questions later on. Right now, as you suggested before, I am trying to read more and get my thoughts together on the bhavas. so the upapada should probably be left alone by me now until I get the basics right. am I right? many thanks again for your valuable help and insights. warm regards. rani. vedic astrology, "Visti Larsen" <vishnu@l...> wrote: > |Hare Rama Krishna| > Dear Rani, > Your the student, if the explanation doesn't satisfy you, then its wrong, if not totally absurd. > > i.
