Dear Learned members,

 

Planet aspecting its own sign or its MKT sign is

considered good. I am however not clear how exactly

does it help. I presume it helps in the areas of the

aspected house. What role is played by the qualities

of the planet that aspects the house?

 

Does it also apply to sign in which the planet would

be exalted? Many times the Deb sign and Exaltation

signs are opposite each other. So would a debilitated

planet aspecting a house that has its sign of

exaltation be beneficial? In which way?

 

I shall appreciate help in clarifying this.

Dear Ramesh,

Your premise is correct on both account. When planet aspects its own rasi the

bhava represented by the said aspected Rasi becomes what is called "Pushta"

meaning strengthened, thus capable of giving good results of bhava. Again a

planet aspecting the exaltation sign fromits own debilitation strengthens the

exalted sign. This is why many astrologers say that mars or Saturn give good

results when in Cancer. The results so obtained are wrt Capricorn that they

aspect. The results would depend onnature of planet and the Bhava aspected.

Otherwise whether planet is malefic or benefic does not hinder strengthening of

Bhava aspected.
