High regards,

Dear Jyotishis, I am new to this group and would like to post some doubts, can

someone tell me as to how to determine which letter name is good for various

rasis.a)What is the basis of selectionThe general practice is on the basis of

moons nakshatra pada. For example for a person born in uttaraphalugni

nakshatra, the starting letters are te, to, pa, pi. Likewise you can find out

for all the nakshatras. But this is a general practice, and there is more to

vedic numerology. There was a good discussion regarding the same a few months

back in this list. You can go to the archives and check the same. c)How many

aksharas, does numerology play a part.Yes Numerology as practiced generally is

a farce. For example, there is no difference if my name is partha, or paartha.

But there are many who advocate such a theory as to add a vowel, etc to the

name . This just doesnot make a difference.2 aksharas-chara rasis-eg:

RAMA:-he was born in cancer ascedant.3 aksharas-dual rasis4 aksharas-fixed

rasis. d)Why is the name of the woman changed after marriage, what is the >

astrological/spiritual reasoning. The name changes due to the influence of

mercury. Change of name is done for ladies after marriage to pacify Mercury.

Mercury gets exalted in a sign of debility of Venus and Vice-Versa. Thus

marriage (Venus) implies the end of childhood and the freedoms that go with it.

Mercury is averse to marriage and emerald is never given to newly married

couples> e)I have heard that marriage name change signifies that a new era or

new life has started in the woman's life, is this true.Yes.> f) If name start

word is not selected according to astrology what is the exact consequences. The

consequences are to be seen by doing a bit of vedic numerology and applying it

to the

chart.,regardspartha
