I don't think it's a good choice to go to Nadi

astrologers. Vedic Astrology is THE BEST. I had been

to Nadi Astrologer in Delhi before. They take the

fingerprint of your thumb and then they will ask you

questions. On the basis of permutations and

combinations, they will take out the birth date from

you only (in the process of asking too many questions)

and then they will tell you the future, which I guess

they also tell using horoscope. Some questions that

they asked me were

 

1) your father name has somewhere indra between it

like rajendra, devendra etc

 

2) your mother name is of 3 characters

 

3) your mother name is of 2 characters

 

4) you were born in july, aug, sep, oct

 

5) you were born before 10th

 

like wise, if one carefully analyzes. According to me

they will take all information from you and based on

that info, they can predict future. I suggest you to

go for VEDIC ASTROLOGY only. It's good and remedies

are effective. So you can consult some good vedic

astrologer

My experience is different and better than yours. I visited Agastya Nadi Centre

in Sector 17 Gorgaon near Delhi and results were amazingly accurate. You

probably visited some other centre in Rajender Nagar or Lajpat nagar.

 

I will soon be visiting to find my past birth details. I have sent some 70-75

people and they are very satisfied.

I thought that nadi astrologers only had the charts of some people, not

everyone...it seems that I am wrong and have a misconception of what exactly a

nadi astrologer is. I know this must seem terribly ignorant, but could

There is a book 'Nadi Predictions' selling on www.vedicweb.com/Manorama.htm to

explain all the nadi centres in India.

 

To explain it, right hand thumb for males and left hand thumb impression of

females are the starting point of search at these centres. They ask certain set

of questions one by one to search for palm leave pertaining to the subject when

the palm leave with your details are found. They tell details of all about you,

your name, father's and mother's name and if you have children their names too,

they also tell how many coborns are alive at that time and finally your birth

details. What profession you are in and what is your future till death is also

told including your longevity. Believe it everything is pre-written and

pre-destined, even the point of time when you will encounter your such a chart,

not a day later than that.

2. nandhi nadi.

3. vashshita nadi.

4. kousiga nadi

5. vishava mitra nadi

6.agasthiya nadi.

7 preghu nadi

this maharashi are writen people life history in

palam leaves. there are 12 kandas according to nadi

astrology. like karma kanda, marrrage kanda, mantar

kanda, remedy kanda

 

the nadi shastra is best in tamilnadu but only 3

places (as i aware if any thing mistake pl forgive

me) is the best places: vaideesawaran kovil,

kanchipuram, swamy malai

 

lots of chaeting happening in this pl try idtenfy a

i had experience of agastya nadi for many of my friends and though i found the

nadi sastra as amazing still with due respect to the great saints, i have my

own reservations about present nadi practitioners and their readings due to

experience.

Regarding Nadi Astrologers, I'd like to describe my personal

experience from about four years ago..

 

I live in US. I sent my thumb impression (through a cousin) to

Agastya Nadi folks in Rajendra Nagar, Delhi. They gave us an

appointment to visit them almost a month later. They needed that much

time for someone from their staff to visit their library in Tambram,

Tamil Nadu and search for the appropriate bundle of "leafs". I timed

my arrival into Delhi so that I could personally see them "read the

leaf." On appointed day, I was accompanied by my cousin and we

resolved that I was to stay as quiet as possible so as not to give

them any clues. They started with a few questions which pertained to

my parents' names. In about three tries they narrowed it down to the

appropriate letters 'B' and 'V.' Then they started with my name and

in the second try, they hit 'R' and then they even said that my name

has to contain the name of Lord Indra. For my wife's name, they hit

the letter 'K' in fifth or sixth try but amazed me by telling me

about her profession. Then there were questions about my sister - her

marital status and "living in Indraprastha." After this, the

floodgates opened. They gave me the time and date of my birth, my

nakshtra and then the entire birth chart and the current Vinshottari

Dasa (which was correct to perfection) Then they told me about my

parents; my children, my brothers and the date when I left India to

settle abroad. Amazingly, they told me that my daughter "has a job

with a big company." My daughter was still in college and she did not

have a job at that point in time. They insisted that she had a job

and that I should check with her. (I had not talked to my daughter in

about four days - she was at home in Maryland.) I called my daughter,

within an hour of this session, and she broke the news that she had

been offered and that she had accepted a job with a major technology

company the previous day; they had come to her college campus for

recruitment from the graduating class. I was amazed. Nadi astrologers

not only made predictions about my future but also pointed out

the "poorva janma doshas" which caused me not to make the kind of

progress that I should have made. They suggested remedial measures to

commence with Ganesh Poojan and then Vishnu Poojan at a temple "which

you used to visit in your childhood - this has something to do with

the name elephant." They also suggested an elaborate measure which

was to be performed by a brahamchari Brahmin for a hundred days and

the amulet thus made, was to be worn by me. There is, indedd, a

temple in my hometown that I used to visit very frequently. It is

called the "HaathiKhana Mandir." (They have a separate temple for

Lord Vishnu within the temple and that is where we performed the

Pooja.) At the end of the session, we were asked to wait for a few

minutes. During that time, the astrologers made a cassette tape of

their reading (in Tamil followed by a Hindi translation.) They also

provided me with a notebook which had my horoscope and some other

things in Tamil (which I can't read.)

 

Here is a follow up on the predictions that they made for me. Only an

unfortunate one, came out to be true. They had predicted the passing

away of a parent within the following two years. My mother passed

away exactly two years later. They had also predicted my daughter's

marriage just about at the same time. No luck as yet. They had

predicted my work situation to improve very considerably within a

year of the reading. It remained the same for the first two years;

actually worsened slightly and now, I have been almost without work.

They "volunteered" to do the elaborate remedial measure for me for a

fees of about Rs 3,500/- The resulting amulet has not done anything

for me; actually things have been consistently going from bad to

worse.

 

I have various relatives and friends who have visited them. Almost

everyone's current happenings were described perfectly well. But

hardly anything about the future has come out to be true. We had

asked about a nephew's marriage. Based on the "leaf" they even said

that "right now he can't get married for the next three months

because he is in a ship, surrounded by vast ocean." My nephew is in

merchant navy and was, at that particular time, "on duty" in the

Arabian Sea. They also "described" the horoscope of the lady that he

was going to get married to "within six months." Well, three years

later, my nephew has finally got married but NONE of the

characteristics that they had described, matches his wife (neither

the horoscope, nor the name, nor the family background.) This one, I

can understand: one of my nieces was very critically ill. The family

approached Agstya Nadi with her thumb impression. Within a week, they

told us that they could not find her leaf; my niece expired shortly,

thereafter.

 

My purpose here is neither to criticize Agastya Nadi Centers nor the

Nadi system. I have a suspicion, however, that they have some kind of

a "yogini siddhi" which lets them "see" the present and the past but

when it comes to the future, they just try to please their "clients."

If the leafs were really written by Agastya Maharishi, I would have

expected a vast majority, if not all the predictions to come out

true. I have seen my amateur astrologer friends to have a better "hit

ratio." I am not sure if these people running these "Centers" are

really the genuine Nadi people.

 

Neeraj Ji, what is your experience regarding your "future" readings

or the readings of your friends and relatives?

 

Would any of the Gurus care to comment, please?

Rajagopalan HAS included Chidambaram in his list of three places.

Vaideeswaran Koil is the exact place near Chidambaram, where you get

Nadi readings. Chidambaram is the town where the famous Nataraj

temple housing one of the five lingams associated with the five

elements/tattwas. Since Vaideeswaran temple is very close to

Chidambaram, most people just say Chidambaram instead.

i heard another three nadis also.

 

1. guru nadi

2. bhrigu nadi

3. shukra nadi.

 

in my childhood, i heard about guru nadi and the nadi reader was in

rajahmundry, a.p. as regards bhrigu nadi, there is a translation of this in

marathi and i think the book is available with maharashtra jyotish parishad,

mumbai.

I have personally met a "SURYA NADI " astrologer in BOMBAY. The astrologer,

picks up the Leaves from a set, after checking the Chart

 

Amongst 5/6 he picks up the particular one, by asking personal questions.

Caste: Fathers Name : Mother Name: No of children

Sequence of Birth of children.

 

I was surprised to see him find 3 charts with same no of children, 3

boys and a girl. But order was different. He finally selected one leaf

and read out the predictions. These have come out fairly correct

 

I had a similar reading of "KASHYAPA NADI " in Bangalore. Here after

selecting the page the astrologer read out the predictions. This Nadi is in the

form of Questions asked by a Sishya and answered by the GURU, in respect of the

client's chart. I still remeber a question "This aspect

shows the person will have 2 brothers. This aspect says he will have

10 brothers> Which is correct ? The guru replies Neither He has 10 divided by 2

that is 5 brothers. " This is true

If some one can get the "Kashyapa Nadi Grantha" and study/translate it, it would

be a great boon tp astrology.

Hello Rajinder,

 

I went along with my friend for nadi astrology at

Rajinder Nagar. He took our thumb impression and said,

we should come day after.

 

The next day, he only entertained my friend. I was

sitting with my friend all the time. He asked him

variuos questions approximately (80 to 100 questions).

Then he told him that you will settle in foreign

country. your father will have some operation, but he

will survive. you will have a son and a daughter and

thier study will also be technical. You will have a

lot of foreign trips.

 

After one week, he called me and he asked me the same

questions, he asked to my friend, though the order was

bit different. Then he was approximately right at my

present and past (My personal view is that the

questions he asked, if one carefully studies the

answers given by me or anybody, when they ask

questions, one can tell a lot about the guy). Like he

asked me 3 questions after a gap of several questions

and they want answer in yes or no. Here is what I can

recall. Note that the following questions had a gap of

questions from other areas of life.

 

1) you are working now

 

2) you are looking for a job

 

3) you are studying now

 

4) you are doing your business

 

ofcourse from the above 99% of people had to answer

yes in anyone of these. Though he told my birth date,

but after I thought over it, I think he can get my

birth date from the following questions

 

1) you were born after june - my answer NO

 

2) you were born in Jan, Feb, March - I am sitting

still without any movement - then he said april and I

nodded

 

3) your birthdate is after 10th, + - 1 day, I nodded

yes

 

4) your birtdate is between 18-25, nodded no

 

5) your birtdate is 13th + - 1 day, nodded yes and I

said 14 th april

 

He told me almost the same he told to my friend for

future. Following are some of his predictions.

 

1) I will go to a foreign land.

 

2) Your father will be a problematic in family. Though

earlier he was a bit. Now everything is right. But he

told that the problems will increase more and more

with your father (exactly opposite is going on, there

are no problems)

 

3) You will travel to many foreign countries

frequently.

 

4) Later you will start your business

 

5) One of your parents may not live when you will be

at the age of 42.

 

6) you will have an arranged marriage at the age of 28

(exactly opposite to what was told by Visti Guru and

Ashwin) in your own community and bride will come from

south west direction of your home .

 

and he told many other things that he told to my

friend.

 

He asked me to bring 3 sweets (mithai) in different

colors, 3 flowers of different colors, and 3 copper

vessels filled with rice and put 748 rupees in each

kalash and donate at their place. ( i didn't)

 

Then he asked me to pay 3350 for shiv amulet (which i

did not purchased)

 

so this was all what he told me and charged 1500. I

was not at all satisfied

 

so this was my experience. For me VEDIC ASTROLOGY is

the best. I don't say Nadi Astrology is bad or fake.

It may be the center i went to was not good or they

didn't do the proper analysis.

Dear Shridhar,

If I may add my comment. Books carrying names like Bhrigu Nadi are not the

original nadigranthas. The books are usually usually indicating the results of

planets in houses. their authenticity is suspect. At the same time some very

good books on Nadi systems are also available, But these are in the form of

commentaries on Nadi granthas available but only parts of such granthas are

available. Examples would be Dev Keralam(Chandra Kala nadi),

Chandrashekhar.

I have the Marathi Translation of BHRIGHU Nadi. It gives very general

readings on ones Life, also gives reasons for your present Birth.

It is good to read it as a past time.

 

I have personally met a "SURYA NADI " astrologer in BOMBAY. The astrologer,

picks up the Leaves from a set, after checking the Chart

 

Amongst 5/6 he picks up the particular one, by asking personal questions.

Caste: Fathers Name : Mother Name: No of children

Sequence of Birth of children.

 

I was surprised to see him find 3 charts with same no of children, 3

boys and a girl. But order was different. He finally selected one leaf

and read out the predictions. These have come out fairly correct

 

I had a similar reading of "KASHYAPA NADI " in Bangalore. Here after

selecting the page the astrologer read out the predictions. This Nadi is in the

form of Questions asked by a Sishya and answered by the GURU, in respect of the

client's chart. I still remeber a question "This aspect

shows the person will have 2 brothers. This aspect says he will have

10 brothers> Which is correct ? The guru replies Neither He has 10 divided by 2

that is 5 brothers. " This is true

If some one can get the "Kashyapa Nadi Grantha" and study/translate it, it would

be a great boon tp astrology.

A close frined of mine had gone there two years ago. What he found was that the

"readers" have ready to use "transcripts" - they just fill in your personal

details at appropriate places and there you are!!!

Just like an assembly-line process. One can well imagine the authenticity of such readings.

centre, at Vaideeswaran Koil, redhanded when he was fooling my

business partner's son-in-law from another country. I had searched

the entire state of Tamil nadu and elsewhere, for genuine readers (I

have seen atleast 25 nadi centres till now. To this day I am yet to

meet one genuine reader who impressed me fully. Some are reasonably

ok. But I like and associate more with the researchers into the nadi

methodologies.

 

I have met some serious researchers. I have also come across some

people who have in their possession some good manuscripts, though

they themselves were not very impressive. It is this kind of

manuscripts and researchers that interest me, not the average

fraudulent and tamasic nadi reader.

My experience with Agastya Nadi Centre at Gurgaon is very satisfactory and I

have recommended them to many. There is a book 'Nadi Predictions' written by

Wing Commander Shashikant Oak who has visited most of such centres in India and

done research into their genuineness. Anybody serious about this subject can

acquire this book. Here I am talking about thumb impression to finding your

chart on palm-leaves sequence and nothing else.

 

Nadi Astrology and Nadi astrologers words have created some confusion in our

discussion here. Let us be clear on it. There are three things associated with

it.

(a) All books on Jyotish are called now books on Nadi Jyotish in South India.

(b) There are few Nadi Granthas like Chandra Kala Nadi or Dhruva Nadi, massive

astrology books using 150 Nadi-amsas in sign.

© Nadi readers as told in opening paragraph of this mail. Some interesting

aspects on Ayanamsa etc. will come to light if anyone delves deep into their

readings.

Not really. But I agree that it is not uncommon for other astrology

books being titled as some Nadi. But that is because of the general

meaning of the word 'Nadi'.

The Dhruva nadi is not like Chandra Kala Nadi. While it does deal

with the Nadiamsas, there are specific readings in this text, unlike

Chandra Kala Nadi.

While I agree with this part, I will share my experiences here about

the nadi readers. Very very few have authentic manuscripts. Most are

fraudulent and play a 'question and answer game' much like the

game 'dumb charades' and elicit information from the client. Among

the few that are authentic, very few are honest. Let me explain

myself. There is one famous nadi reader in Vaideeswaran Koil. He has

been mentioned in the book by Sashikanth Oak too. I had visited him

a couple of times along with friends whenever someone wanted a nadi

reading. While he does have **some authentic leaves for **some

people, he does not have the whole collection. And instead of saying

it say, so as not to lose the money (client), he and his assistants

act as if they are reading from the leaves even when they don't have

the particular person's leaf. This reader is the most famous of all.

He has been visited by Tamil movie actors as well.

 

 

Even among those who are in possession of the leaves genuinely, the

other problem often encountered is that they ask you to do costly

remedies just to fill their pockets. So beware of the remedies. They

have some purpose and will yield result, but NOT FOR the client .

They are beneficiasl to the Nadi reader!

 

 

I have been to nadi readers in Madras, Salem, Chidambaram and

certain other places in India, where they have branches and centres

(some of the ones mentioned by Sashikant Oak in his book as well). I

have also met some Bhrigu Samhita readers in the North, esp in

Varanasi. While I agree that ***some are reasonably good, majority

are not of much use. For every one genuine reader there are perhaps

a hundred frauds. Even the genuine ones do suffer from the other

problems mentioned above. So eventually, very few are reasonably ok.

 

 

I have not been to the reader in Rajendranagar in Delhi. During my

next trip to India, I will try to see this reader. Thanks for

sharing your experience here.

 

 

The bottomline: There are genuine nadis, but very few. While one may

find a genuine nadi if one is lucky enough, it is hard to find an

honest and genuine ***READER. Very very rare. As for the majority,

it is a big racket.

 

 

BEWARE. GREED FOR MONEY HAS CORRUPTED ALL. USE YOUR DISCRIMINATION

WHENEVER YOU VISIT AN ASTROLOGER, NADI OR JYOTISH.
