Guest guest
Om namah shivaya dear Parag the ancients used the measure time by using ghatis(pots). It is called ghada in hindi, and different regions have different nomenclature. from sunrise to sunset, the ghatis used to evaporate water or sand was released and thus it was found that 2 and half ghatis equal to one hour. So essentially five ghatis is two hours, or roughly the time elapsed for one lagna to pass. 60 vighatis is equal to one ghati, thus 20/60=1/3 is one vighati. thus roughly 20 seconds is one vighati. but if you calculate using exact figures, you would get 24 seconds,. There are elaborate calculations to find out who rules which vighati, and this determines the sex of the child and also qualities., venus, moon, ketu and saturn denote female grahas, mercury depends on the association, mars, jupiter, sun denote male grahas. Janma vighati graha, pranapada lagna, kunda are the methods employed to rectify the charts to correct time of birth. Guest guest
Jaya JagannathDear Parag and Partha, The Janma Vighati grahas finds its utility not only in rectification of the birth chart, but also it has tremendous impact on the life of the native. It determines the core nature of the native and also has a great say in the theme of his life. Try find the Vighatika Graha and then check out for yourself. Please mail me in private, if somebody wants to discuss it further. I guess more work need to go in this area. Guest guest
Om Krshna Guru Dear Partha, Me too heard this. In my country it is called Pa-Tatiya, Pa (sound like pay called paya mens hour ) and tatiya means disk. When the disk sunk, one hour gone. When the scientist define the second, they have clear way to explain it, even I cannot remember it. Same way what is the definition for Vighati ? I just found it as follows. The time between one sunrise and the next sunrise (which is supposed to be near about 60 ghaties) consists of 21,600 breaths or pranas. One ghati is made of 360 breaths. The time taken to pronounce ten long syllables is one prana, and six pranas make one vinadee or vighati. Sixty vighaties or palas make one ghati. I was going to finish this work (learning Vighati Graha) tonight. Now, I am in trouble.. Need more digging. No end. You may have aware it, but I haven't. Guest guest
Dear Karu some more information from Jaimini sutras as translated by sri.B.Suryanarain Rao "According to Aryan Astronomers a day is divided into 60 ghatis. Each ghati is divided into 60 vighatis. Each vighati is divided into 60 Liptas. Each lipta is divided into 60 Viliptas. Each vilipta is divided into 60 paras and each para is divided into 60 Tatparas. The figures when multiplied stand thus : one day 60 Gh. x 60 V.G. x 60 L x 60 V.L. x 60 P. x 60 TP. or 60 x 60 x 60 x 60 x 60 x 60. when multiplied will give you 46656000000." from my notes , as stated by Pt.Rath and other gurus in some old mails. "The Vighati Lagna moves four times faster as the Ghati Lagna, so it passes one sign in 15 Vighatis, or two degrees in 1 Vighati. For calculation of Vighati Lagna the time from sunrise till birth should be multiplied by 10, converted into signs and degrees as above, and added to Udaya lagna. However, Maharishi Jaimini indicates another method for using Vighatis of Janma Kaala. He says that the time form sunrise to birth should be converted into Vighatis and divided by 9. The remainder if not an integer should be increase upto the next integer. Then the planets are allotted to the numbers from 1 to 9 in the order of the weekdays, followed by the nodes as follows: 1 – Sun; 2 – Moon; 3 – Mars; 4 – Mercury; 5 – Jupiter; 6 – Venus; 7 – Saturn; 8 – Rahu; 9 – Ketu. The sex and colour of the planet will determine the same features of the native. Sun, Mars, Jupiter and Rahu give a male child, Moon, Venus and Ketu give a female. Mercury and Saturn give an eunuch. The Sun and Mars give reddish or golden yellow complexion. Jupiter gives tawny skin. Moon and Ketu indicate whitish complexion. Mercury gives bluish complexion, while Saturn, Venus and Rahu give dark complexion. So this may be used for birth time rectification within one Vighati (24 seconds). Experience shows that Vighatis will give proper results if Lahiri (Chitrapaksha) Ayanamsha is used for the calculations. But as Sarajit mentioned, it indicate more than that. For example when Saturn is the Vighati Graha, the native can be sorrowfull. When such a person naturaly like to charnt some thing like "Om Namo Narayanaya". Also, Vighati Graha activate in his natural period to give his promised results. For example,Bill Clinton had Sun in Leo (royalty and leading), create a raja yoga in younger age.
