Dear Ajoy,

I am glad you raised this question. I too have seen this mentioned in many east

Indian jyotish books. Jupiter in Leo seems to be a complete taboo for any

muhurta specially marriage. I hope others can throw light on this.

Best regards,

I'm with you on this, Ajoy. Being both the natural 5h and a friend's rasi, I

don't see why Le shouldn't be one of Ju's favored haunts. If I had to put a

finger on something, it might be that it isn't so good for the indications

of Pi, since Le is 6h from there. I'm not entirely sure which loss of power

you're referring to, but it can't be sthanabala for sure because Le is just

next door to Cn and by a rule of 3 (which is what's prescribed for

applicability), it still retains a lot of it.

Purely logically, this might not be a good time for commencing some

long-term thing that'll culminate much later, like building a house or

planning a child, because by the time you're thru with the whole thing, Ju

would've had to move to Vi -- which place he doesn't much take to

comfortably.

Dear Ramapriya

What about the same position for an Aq ascendant? Leo is 7th frm

there and Jupiter transit through 7th house might mean marriage for

many. What are the implications in that case? Will it be inauspicious?

Dear Ajoy,

Yes ,in a way it is true it is known as Simhastha Guru. However there are

exceptions like when Sun is in Aries the time is not in auspicious and so on.

Hi Aneesha,

If Sa is placed either in , yes it could mean marriage if the UL is in Pi,

Cn or Vi. Sanjay has said in the past that when a transiting Ju aspects 2h

from UL thru rasi drishti, it can generally culminate in marriage, when Ve

also transits favorably. Like I said in an earlier post, I'm not too sure

about the auspiciousness, or the lack of it, of Ju in Le.

Dear Rama

jupiter aspecting 2nd from Ul gives long marriage, or stable

marriage, but is not a must for marriage. otherwise there would be no

divorces or bad marraiges in this world.

Dear Rama & Ajoy

Bhavartha Ratnakara and other texts (someone said Rama did a translation!!

heavens not now but maybe later he will) state that this is a Rajyoga

position (Leo placement of Jupiter) for Pisces. Any idea why? I guess the

rishi finds his destination. I think we need to tabulate the texts and see

what saravali, JP and BR say.

Dear Sanjayji, Ajoy, Rama,

Here is what two of the texts say about Jupiter's placement in Leo:

1. Saravali: The native will be like a king, victorious, strong, courageous,

learned and rich, with lots of friends, heroic, born in eminent family, will

stand out in a crowd and live in hills, fortresses, forests and temples.

2. BJ: Jupiter in Leo will give all the results of Jupiter in Cancer and make

the person the commander of an army.

However, here the texts are speaking of the individual. Jupiter in Leo may be

excellent for natal horoscopes. But my question was regarding muhurta.

Specifically for muhurta, this placement of Jupiter is considered bad, and I

can't figure out why.

Best regards,

Sarbani

!Om Tat Sat!

I am just guessing because I read about the placement

of Guru in Leo related to kumbh mela in Nashik. The

History behinds is that all devatas fought against

Danava for Amrit and this is the period in which

Kalash kept on Trimbakeshwar(near nashik). But it is

short period with some combination with other planet.

This time the period comes some where from July03 to

Dec03. During the period, all muhurtas should be

avoided because all devatas attend the holy

destination and one can not get Grah Bal (mainly Guru

Bal -Benefic result of Jupiter) for Muhurta.

One can have good muhurtas after Jan 04.

Dear Ramapriya,

Thank you for your reply. I think you accidentally failed to finish

the first sentence...

> If Sa is placed either in , yes it could mean marriage if the UL is

in Pi,

much obliged if you complete what you were about to say.

Mr.Rath's and your comments on auspiciousness make this a little more

clear.

Thank you,

Aneesha

Dear Sarabani,

I think it is to do with Gurubala. Guru's exaltation Rasi is 8th from Leo.

Chandrashelhar.

----

Sarbani

I had to put afinger on something, it might be that it isn't so good for the

Om Tat Sat!

Dear Sarjit,

No it is not.

The up coming Kumbh Mela is called Sihastha Kumbh

Mela. There are other Kumbh Mela. One of the Kumbh

mela is at Ujjain. All these events are celebrated

with some planetory combination. Sihastha Kumbh

Mela(Leo) is always after 12 year when jupiter transit

in Leo with other planetory combination( I don't

remembered the same). Here Kumbh means Kalash. Devatas

kept Amrit Kalash 3 times on the earth while fighting

with Danavas. One of the place is Trimbkeshwar(near

Nashik). The moment at which the Kalash placed was

Jupiter in Leo with other planetory combination.

All rishi believes that during Sihasth Kumbh Mela,

there will be Maha Snan Parvani (Holy bath).

Regards,

Deepak

Dear Sarajit

Deepak is right. Jupiters transit in KENDRA to Kumbha is the mela. To

understand further, treat Kumbha as the Lagna of Lord Shiva as NILAKANTHA

(drinks the poison of our sins) and Taurus, the bull as His Vahana

(vehicle).

Remember my principal teaching - fixed signs relate to Shiva, Movable to

Brahma and dual signs to Vishnu. Jupiter in any sign shall indicate the

'amrita', so when Jupiter is in fixed signs, the worship of Shiva is advised

for removing the poison from sins.

~ om tat sat ~

Yours truly,

Sanjay Rath

Dear Deepak,

Hare Rama Krsna.

Interesting which planet that would be, that influences Jupiter here in

Simha? Could it be the graha dristi of Shani from Gemini?

Would these muhurta's similarly be bad for garbhadhana?

Dear Mr.Dhira Krsna Dasa,

If I may intervene in this discussion, what I get from the talks here

is that it is not nice to wed during Jup in Leo, but what if a native

has already done so, should they re-marry. Is there another

alternative.

Also, I wanted to ask this from a long time, I think Sanjayji had

suggested a remedy in one of the posts, that the couple re-marry why

is this done, what's the exact reasoning behind it.

Hope to receive a reply from you.

Thanks everyone who answered on the UL questions that I had posted, I

am just trying to save email space as suggested by PVR.

another query here, what is the meaning of garbhadana? I know this is

a basic question but my traditional hindi isn't that good.

Warm regards,

Sushmita

Dear Sushmita,

Hare Krsna!

It is for me personally the first time I hear about the Jupiter in Leo

being bad for marriage muhurta. One book I have states that when Jupiter

is in Leo, Jupiter is as good as exalted. Now if you have married during

this time already, then that probably will have had it's purpose in giving

you the effects it should have given. Nevertheless, if you are worried,

yes, you can consider re-marriage, did you have legal or vedic wedding

ceremony during this time both or only one? If you didn't have vedic

wedding yet, you can plan it during the time when Jupiter is not in Leo,

and then get the bad muhurta nullified.

However, a lot will depend on the whole chart of your marriage muhurta,

and you shouldn't take one point out of it to make it a disaster. If you

send me your marriage muhurta, we can have a look.

Garbhadhana is the sexual union for begetting a child. That can be chosen

astrologically in order to have a good child.
