Here is a nice account of the Thirunallar temple (along with a good

colour picture of Saturn deity) available at the link:

By the way, this article says that Saturn transit (called as Sani

Peyarchi) from Taurus to Gemini is on 22 May'03 early morning but

according to some posts in this group, I understand that Saturn has

stopped retrograding and moved back into Gemini in early April.

Jhora also shows that this is the case. Furthermore I understand

that Saturn already transited into Gemini in June/July'02 (after

Jupiters transit into Cancer).

 

Readers, please enlighten me on this mystery.

there is no mystery, the panchang used in tamilnadu is different,

they have different way of calcuating things. We should use the

calculations based on the standard ephemeris.
