Guest guest
Hello Rajas Check Sun|Moon midpoint in both the charts and if it is hard aspect with outer planets from the same chart or from the partner's chart. If yes then there are likely to be problems in the marriage. Guest guest
Dear Rajas, Like all other concepts in astrology, there is no single rule that overrides all, in this case too. Over the years I have come across slightly different versions. I will briefly outline the main points. Shadashtakam (6/8 positions mutually) is generally not recommended because it has a destructive influence in general. Broadly speaking there are two types of 6/8 influences. I will illustrate them by referring to a simple concept- the elements. Take the natural zodiac. Water and Fire share a 6/8 relationship just as Air and Earth do. And you know what happens if Fire and Water are brought together. Only two possibilities exist. Water can either put off the fire (extinguish= death) or fire can evaporate the water depending on other factors. In short 6/8 is not a nice influence. But a 6/8 relationship between the Rasis (moon signs) is not the same as that between the Ascendants or Venus or Sun or Navamsa lagnas. A 6/8 relationship between the Navamsa lagnas is to be avoided at all costs (I have seen this leading to bitter quarrels invariably in many charts). I would not recommend it at all. A 6/8 between girl and boy's Venus can also be disruptive though not as bad as the 6/8 relation between the navamsa lagnas. And I have seen atleast three sets of charts where a 6/8 existed between both the navamsa lagnas as well as rasi Venus positions. Both ended in bitter quarrels. But a 6/8 between the Moons may not always be bad. Some teachers refer to an Anukula Shashtakam. Again it is said that if the man's rasi is 6th from the woman's, there is an indication of loss of children. But if the woman's rasi is 6th from the man's, then the progeny will prosper. Whether there is loss of children or not, at least one thing is clear. A woman's rasi being 6th from a man's is accepted and not vice versa. Depending on other factors a 6/8 of rasis may not be harmful. But I cannot say the same about a 6/8 between Navamsa lagnas. Even if the rest 'appear to be' matching, 6/8 of Navamsas can often override other factors strongly. Hope this helps.
