Dear List,

While looking for auspiscious Muhurtas, we look for the Shuddhi of the

House signifying the matter for which we are looking for Muhurta. We also

look for Jupiters drishti on the lord of the said houses. Eg: To look for

a good muhurta for House warming ceremony, we look for Lagna/ Chaturtha

Shuddhi and it would be desirable if Jupiter aspects the Lord of the 4th/

Lagna

Does this hold good even if Jupiter is in MKS or is a Badhaka

in a Chart of the Native for whom Muhurta is being found?

It would be appreciated if someone can shed some light on this?

this issue. I've learnt tthat"a planet is in marana karaka sthana if in

12th for Sun, 8th for Moon, 7th for Mars and Merc, 3rd for Jup, 6th for

Ven, 1st for Sat, 9th for Rahu), and that houses OWNED BY IT will suffer" Is

that all? Please adviseAnna

Dear Sriram Nayak,

When you want to fix a Muhurta for House Warming ceremony,it does'nt have any

connection whether in a natal chart Guru is in MKS or not.In Muhurta ,Guru's

presence is considered as blessings of God.Now just see what Muhurta

Madhaveeyam says regarding which planets to be present for a good Muhurta for

Griha Pravesha :

KENDRAASHTAMESHU RAHITESHU ASHUBHAIRVYARYE CHA,

SHUDDHE GURAU VAPUSHI DAITYA GURAU CHA KENDRE.

PAAPESHU VAIRY SAHAJAAGAMA SAMSTHITESHU ,

NAVYAM GRIHAM PRAVISHATADDVARSHA KUMBHA LAGNE.

Meaning :

There should be no malefic planets in 8th house and in Kendras ( 1,4,7,10 ),12th

house should be empty ( Vyaya stana Shuddhi ),Guru in Lagna,Shukra in a Kendra

and malefic planets ( here malefic means Surya,Kuja,Shani,Rahu and

Ketu,Afflicted Budha ) in 3-6-11 th houses and Vrishabha or Kumbha Lagna rising

are very auspicious for Griha Pravesha.

Still there is another Shloka in Muhurta Madhaveeyam.:

SHASTHAASTHIRAASCHA MRIDAVASCHA GRIHA PRAVESHE,

KSHIPRAASCHARAASCHA VIDADHATUDAVAH PRAVAASAM.

SHRESHTAA VRISHASTHIRA GRIHAASSA SHUBHADAASCHA SARVE,

VARJYAASCHARAASCHA PARAMAMEESHWAPI VAARSHABHAAMSHA.

Meaning :

Sthira ( Fixed ) and Mridu ( Soft ) nakshatras Uttara

Phalguni,Uttarashada,Rohini, Chitra,Revati,Anuradha and Mrigashira are good for

Griha Pravesha.Kshipra chara Guna ( Fast moveable character ) Nakshatras

Hasta,Ashvini,Pushya,Dhanishta,Shatabhisha,Swati,Shravana,Punarasu are not good

for travel also.Sthira Lagna ( Fixed Rasi ) is the best and Vrishabha is the

excellent and if not found then Lagnas having Vrishabhamsha are also

Good.Moveable Lagnas are prohibited.Ubhaya Lagnas are middling.
