Guest guest
Hi list, Though most of the people misunderstood kp as systems approach, a few had actually posted the difference between kp & vedic astrology. I learnt kp basics last year, so I thought of sharing my thoughts with u all. As someone had mentioned, it uses placidus system of house division, kp ayanamsa, & stellar aspects. But I never used kp ayanamsa, & seldom used stellar aspects, still got the results. I always used lahiri ayanamsa .The beauty of the system lies in ruling planets & significations in terms of houses. For eg. If a planet signifies 9th & 5th house, , it will not b considered good for career. Though it may b considered good for higher studies. kp can be best utilized for horary cases, since u know the accurate time of asking questions. Particularly for yes/ no questions, kp is certainly the best. In simpler cases u need not to even cast the chart, ruling planets can tell u a lot. Here I would say, whatever prof. krishnamurty has written in his books is not the final word, there is scope of rectification & research in this area. most of the people try to learn kp from books which is not at all easy, especially when the books lack clarity & brevity. I feel that kp is nothing but a refined branch of vedic astrology , after all dividing nakshtra in vimshottari proportions cannot be a non vedic technique. Some even believe that it is taken from nadi shastras by prof krisnamurty. How to correlate to other udu dasas , how we can develop a holistic methodology r some of the questions which form area of future research. Though I m not so sound in kp, but once I had tried to time my friend’s arrival as an exercise , & results were accurate upto mintues. So, kp is not just an imagination or fool’s exercise, but an important predictive technique which its founder tried to develop as a system. I don’t think people can wholly rely on kp for making predictions but It can make wonders if used as a subsidiary technique. >From its books , I got this impression that people have rather misused this accurate technique for predicting quantitative non-essential matter. Predicting no. of sticks in matchbox, no. of letters to b received on a particular day etc ... perhaps one should first understand meaning & purpose of astrology . once I had listened to osho‘s discourse on astrology(“mein kehta akhan dekhi”), he talked about 3 divisions essential, semi-essential, essential area of predictive astrology. Normally people want to know when will they die Has anyone ever asked whether he will be happy or sad while departing this world? just think, does it really matter if u become aware of exact time , what about its qualitative aspect? What matters is the life u led was of any use to any one or not…. Anyway, misuse is something which is common to every useful technique, kp or vedic ;What ever we want to predict, whatever technique we use, the essence & purpose of astrology is spiritual & will always remain spiritual. I m neither a kp expert, nor a member of any kp group, not even osho’s disciple; what I wrote r my personal thoughts and experiences as a student of this divine science.
