There is a discrepancy as to whether or not Mars should be in the lagna. BV Raman states in his Muhurta book that Mars should not be in the lagna and some people have suggested that Mars exalted in lagna would be good. Mars can be chosen in lagna if you are planning on converting this into a war related building!! Is there another good combination? Moreover, if Ketu is in the lagna, Rahu would be in the 7th house.
