Is Monday Monday?

Dear Group members,

 

does anyone know for sure that today is monday. And therefore a day

ruled by moon. Has the calendar not been messed about and changed

back in the Greek or Roman days?

 

A lot of remedies prescribed (for example fast on day lorded by

upapada) as well as techniques such as interpreting Tithi Pravesh

require us to know for sure that Monday is Monday .....

Rest assured that the weekdays are as they should be. You can check it back

with the help of ahargana tables, which will give the weekdays for different

dates of any calendar, counting the number of solar days from the beginning

of Brhama's present day. This is the whole basis of the kalabala

determination so, we need to know for sure, as the lord of the day will not

only determin dina bala, but also Maasa bala (lord of month), Vaara bala

(lord of year) etc.
