Dear Sanjay Rath,

>This is what Srila Prabhupada was trying to explain in that the

>'sac-chid-ananda' body of the Lord is divine and the mana carries the

>rasa of the anubhava thereby remembering everything. Even advanced yogi's

>like Arjuna failed to recollect the experience as their mana could not

>bear the dazzling Brahma Jyoti, what to talk of the the Lord Himself.

The conditioned soul always is entangled within the subtle body, which

consists of Ahamkara, Budha and Mana. Even when in contact with the Lord

Himself, so many persons were in illusion of His true Self, although the

Lord was standing right in front of them. Take e.g. the many asuras who

were killed by the the Lord. Yet, Arjuna is a fully surrendered devotee

and even he could not remember past lives. From this we see the difference

between the Lord, who is all knowing, and the conditioned soul.

>The mana fails to retain its indriyas in front of this Jyoti and is

>destroyed. This destruction of the mana is the destruction of individual

>identity, the 'I' factor we know as Ahamkara. If the 'I' factor is not

>destroyed then there will be confusion of identities in subsequent births

>and the mana will be confused about the new body and its identity.

But the question still remains: Does the atma see the Brahma Jyoti every

time he quits the body? Destruction of the "I" factor which you mention

here, yes, if one attains the Brahma Jyoti and merges, then no ahamkara is

there anymore. But this is a stage not many atma's attain. For devotees of

the Lord, such a state of being is considered worse than Hell, since one

gives up his identity completely. Yet, the conditioned soul who is

entangled in matter is afraid of giving up it's identity, how then will

the "I" factor be destroyed? As I said already before, the atma can

remember past lives, because of it's purity, but the Mana will forget.

Anyway, as you desire, we will stop our discussion here. I don't find like

you are representing the disciplic succession of Lord Chaitanya very well,

while you claim to be in the succession of Achyuta.

Gauranga Prabhu, thanks for the additional quotes.

Your sishya,

Dhira Krsna dasa
