Guest guest
Dear respected members, I would appreciate clarification about the nature of an exalted Sun in the 12th house. Though the Sun is most powerful and this would normally indicate strong intelligence, strength of will, self- confidence etc. and ruling the 4th house would advance the indications of that house; it is in the house of loss and expenditure. Putting aside other influences in the chart, how do we reconcile the two opposing influences regarding the exalted Sun in the 12th? Thank you, Paul
Guest guest
Dear Paul, For intellegence one has to observe the 5th house, or at least this is what I understand.Being lord of the 4th in 12th he would, more likely, indicate loss or problems to self earned property and even lack of Matrusukha. It could also indicate aquisition of property in distant lands.Much would also depend on strength and position of Mars his depositor. Guest guest
Jaya Jagannath Dear Chandrashekhar/ Paul, I agree with you but one point. Lagna is the seat of intelligence, 5th is for knowledge. Intelligence and knowledge are interwined. So the planets placed in the 5th house has a great impact on the Lagna. At least it shouldnot be inimical to the Lagna lord/ karaka/ planets placed in lagna. Paka Lagna, the place where the lagna lord is placed shall show the focus of the intellect and would be the protector of the intelligence. Guest guest
I understand that for intelligence there are other indicators. I may have used the term intelligence incorrectly. I take the Sun also as signifying illumination which is somewhat of an intelligence of a higher order; the knowledge of our Self and true nature. However, my problem is more of the Sun being exalted, meaning to me abundance and strength of its qualities and also the qualities of the house it owns. Because of its strength, I see the Sun as retaining much of its qualities even though placed in the 12th. My understanding may obviously be incorrect.
