Warm regards,

Hare Rama krishna,

Namaste Guruji,

I have heard the term garbha sishta dasa. In kerala it

is always considered. It is the remaining period of

the first vimshottari mahadasa one is running.

Instead of saying the exact lagna degree the grabha

sishta dasa is mentioned, from it the exact lagna

degree can be calculated, but I dont know how that is

done.

Respectfully,

Rema

Hi Sanjay,

Nice to hear from you after such a long time. I'd heard this term a year or so

ago from an astrologer friend here in Bangalore, who's also into naadi

astrology. But no amount of asking has elicited an explanation for the term,

though. All he replies, with a smile, is, "Ask your guru. He'll be the best man

to explain." Well... so much for knowledge-sharing :o)

I'm sure you'll give us all a neat little lesson.

Yours respectfully,

SARVAM GYANANANDAMAYAM JAGAT

AUM GURUBYO NAMAH

Respected Sanjayji,

Your active participation gives me a great pleasure. We are indeed lucky and

blessed. Coming to the point. I wish to submit whatever i know on this

subject. It is believed that moon is the abode of pitrus (disembodied souls).

Moon also represents mother and womb/garbha. At the time of birth Moon's

location is identified in one of the lunar mansions/nakshatras. Sishta means

balance. The degrees traversed by the moon is noted as the portion elapsed in

the womb(previous state) of the mother. The balance yet to be traversed in the

nakshatra is marked as the point of beginning of the journey of the soul in the

earth. In those days degrees of the planets(longitudes) were not marked/noted.

Only the nakshatra pada was noted. This too cannot be found in most of the

horoscopes. Inspite of the deficiencies they used to mark the garbha sistha

dasa(karma clock) which is nothing but the vimshottari dasa which we all know.

Astrologically yours,

p.s.ramanarayanan.
