Guest guest
Om Gurave Namah Namaste friends, Jyotish is a divine science and it covers the spiritual aspects of one's existence. A good Vedic astrologer is capable of recommending religious worships that are appropriate for a person, for various purposes, material as well as spiritual. Some religious schools are exclusionist in nature and believe that the worship of the Almighty in a particular name and using a particular procedure alone gives liberation to the soul and that other religious approaches are inferior. This has a great bearing on the recommendations we give as Vedic astrologers. In that context, a discussion on the worship of various deities, including demigods, is quite welcome on this list. However, it has to be borne in mind that this is a controversial topic with a thin link/relevance to Jyotish. So losing focus and deviating into other aspects of it will only result in a diffusion of our energy. Also, blanket dismissal of someone as a religious fanatic will not serve any constructive purpose. Let us not start attacking personalities. Please keep these in mind when writing on this sensitive topic. Neither bigotry nor personal attacks will be appreciated. Also, I do not need to be told who is to be banned. If somebody is to be banned, I will ban them myself. My two posts (posts 23797 and 23857) may be considered as the editorial comment of the list moderator. As the list moderator, that is the official stand I adopt for the list. May Jupiter's light shine on us, Narasimha
Guest guest
HI Narasimha garu, i agree totally with you in this matter, hinduism always says tere are many ways to reach god and you have to follow one with utmost sincerity. whatever the path one takes if one follows the path sincerely with the whole eye on reaching the god, it is not bad at all. it is even said in bhagavath geetha , "swadarme nidhanam shraya, paradharmo bhayavaha:" even if another path different from our own is followed very effectively it is not equal to our own path. So, instead of critisizing other paths it is better to follow the path we take up and try to follow it effectively. i am very happy to see all the discussion going on here. it is very good for the health of hinduism as well as indian traditions and culture. have a nice day! jai yogeswar!
