Can someone recommend a correspondence course for beginners or maybe

a diploma course via correspondence as well..?

I intend to pursue a diploma in vedic astrology over the next few

years.

JAYA JAGANNATHA!

Dear Jan Kennet,

Namaste.

There's some courses offered over the Internet in the US I think. David

Frowley and Shyamasundara dasa both offer correspondence courses. Please see

their and the ACVA website. SJC also offers free courses iover the Internet

on the Srijagannath and Varahamihira study groups (first one for beginners,

second one for advanced students). I have a few lessons uploaded to my

website also. I plan to do more, but it requires time.

About the diplomas I am not aware. I have a Jyotish school here in Hungary

for 4 years, but it's live aqnd in Hungarian. My notes and study materials

are all in Hungarian. But usually for English speaking population it's

easier as a lot of books and translations are available. I recommend to

begin with Brihat Parasara Hora Sastra and then proceed to Jamini Sutram.

Other classics may be taken along. After this Muhurtha and Prashna should be

studied. For these Muhurtha Cintamani and Prashna Marga are the most

important works.

If you have any questions along the way, feel free to as them on the list or

from me.

Yours,

Gauranga Das Vedic Astrologer
