It is not easy to judge the effect of retrogrades in a chart...I am not speaking for myself. However I would first want people to try and understand the particular types of Karma which causes planets to become retrograde in this life. If we can do that we will be able to undestand what is associated with retrograde planets in different Bhavas and Rasis. I have 3 retrograde planets and with each passing day I am beginning to understand the meaning of them being retrograde.....I feel retrograde planets are the result of Karmic blemishes from the past which has a bearing on a particular type of karma related to past births. Me having retrograde mars in cancer in the 6th aspecting the moon in the 12th makes me think I was overly agressive in my last incarnations and mars being retrograde and aspecting the moon and the lagna will cause me certain situatons and circumstances in life to crop up to make me realise where I went wrong and what I need to improve. Mars retrograde in 6th in my case would need me to control my aggression and avoid baseless outburts of rage or anger. I am saying this from experience and circumstances. I could go on about my Saturn and Jupiter being retrograde too but I think this should be enough to give and insight into retrograde planets. I feel by looking at and understanding retrogrades, it will be a great help to understanding specific blemishes of karmic backlog from the past which will fructify in this life and which needs to be corrected. Understanding retrogression will help us improve our journey to eternity. THEY DO CARRY SPECIAL MEANING. Overall, I have analysed a couple of charts and of the opinion that retro effect delays events which obviuosly teaches a lot of hard lessons.
