Guest guest
Dear Jyothish Gurus and learned members, I read in lesson 4 of Brihaspathi Net as follows: " However we should note that the planets will get combust only when they approach the Sun during direct motion, because in this case they pass behind the Sun, while during retrograde motion they pass in front of the Sun. Thus the phenomenon of combustion does not occur, rather the planet gains more strength from the Sun. The only exception is Venus, which revolves in the opposite direction, thus it will get combust while retrograde, and will not get so while direct." Is this true ? I have Venus (Direct) with Sun very close (less than 3 deg) in my Rasi (D1). I have been told that Venus is combust and can not give beeter result. I am in dilema please clarify. Guest guest
Dear Arunkumar, I think that whenever a planet is within about 7degrees of Sun it would be termed as combust.Only Mercury is said to be able to give results even if combust, probably as it can never be mor than 28 degrees apart from Sun. At least this is what I think. Guest guest
JAYA JAGANNATHA! Dear Arunkumar and Jyotisha, Namaste. The teaching of retrograde planets (and direct Venus) not getting combist comes from Sanjayji, I just accepted it because he taught it like that. It seems logical in one sense however I would not be able to cite any shastric reference to support this statement. So forther clarification is needed from Sanjayji if he is on list and reads this message.
