Dear Group Members,

This is just my view on the various comments written by

some of you in response to Gauranga.I read some of you wrote...Moksha is

rare, a large percentage cannot be achieving it,the combinations are so

rare, even some one who mentioned that me and people around me do not have it

so how is the precentage reached. This is what I personally feel...

Moksha itself is a very personal matter.I have Ketu in

the fourth house from my AK but how many people know that, how many of my

family members, friends or even people who know me well know how spiritual I

really am.So how can we say with gurantee that moksha is rare. Can we be sure

that people who dont seem spiritual enough arent or do we really go out and

look at enough charts to say that 16 percent of the people will NOT be ready

for moksha.Infact people who really may be close to Moksha may not even talk

about it much as I said its some thinn personal. Its the evolution of the

soul.So if we cant be sure that 16 percent of the people will attain it we

also cant be sure about how rare it is or that 16 percent will not attain

moksha.

The earth is full of various energy levels infact the

whole universe or being is.This energy is constantly shifting and evolving

and changing so there must be people evolving all the time with the

energy.Moksha is an evolution too so it has to be happening in the world

some where may be we just dont see it.All we can do is perhaps try to study

the given combinations and find out for ourselves instead of straight away

jumping to conclusions that it cannot be.I am sure those who do attain

moksha have an open mind to views so may be we need to do the same to

further research about it.

Regards,

Kanupriya.

JAYA JAGANNATHA!

Dear Kanu Priya,

Namaste.

For attaining Moksha, one should be free from vices and the reactiopns of

sins committed in the past. This is not my criteria, it is states by Sree

Krishna in the Bahagad-geeta (7.28.):

yeshaam tv anta-gatam paapam

janaanaam punya-karmanaam

te dvandva-moha-nirmukta

bhajante maam dridha-vrataah

TRANSLATION

Persons who have acted piously in previous lives and in this life and whose

sinful actions are completely eradicated are freed from the dualities of

delusion, and they engage themselves in My service with determination.

PURPORT by Srila Prabhupada:

Those eligible for elevation to the transcendental position are mentioned in

this verse. For those who are sinful, atheistic, foolish and deceitful, it

is very difficult to transcend the duality of desire and hate. Only those

who have passed their lives in practicing the regulative principles of

religion, who have acted piously and who have conquered sinful reactions can

accept devotional service and gradually rise to the pure knowledge of the

Supreme Personality of Godhead. Then, gradually, they can meditate in trance

on the Supreme Personality of Godhead. That is the process of being situated

on the spiritual platform. This elevation is possible in Krishna

consciousness in the association of pure devotees, for in the association of

great devotees one can be delivered from delusion.

It is stated in the Sreemad-Bhaagavatam (5.5.2) that if one actually wants

to be liberated he must render service to the devotees (mahat-sevaam dvaaram

aahur vimukteh); but one who associates with materialistic people is on the

path leading to the darkest region of existence (tamo-dvaaram yoshitaah

sangi-sangam). All the devotees of the Lord traverse this earth just to

recover the conditioned souls from their delusion. The impersonalists do not

know that forgetting their constitutional position as subordinate to the

Supreme Lord is the greatest violation of God's law. Unless one is

reinstated in his own constitutional position, it is not possible to

understand the Supreme Personality or to be fully engaged in His

transcendental loving service with determination.

Another Shloka (12.6-7):

ye tu sarvaani karmaani

mayi sannyasya mat-paraah

ananyenaiva yogena

maam dhyaayanta upaasate

teshaam aham samuddhartaa

mrityu-samsaara-saagaraat

bhavaami na ciraat paartha

mayy aaveshita-cetasaam

TRANSLATION

But those who worship Me, giving up all their activities unto Me and being

devoted to Me without deviation, engaged in devotional service and always

meditating upon Me, having fixed their minds upon Me, O son of Plthä-for

them I am the swift deliverer from the ocean of birth and death.

PURPORT by Srila Prabhupada

It is explicitly stated here that the devotees are very fortunate to be

delivered very soon from material existence by the Lord. In pure devotional

service one comes to the realization that God is great and that the

individual soul is subordinate to Him. His duty is to render service to the

Lord-and if he does not, then he will render service to maayaa.

As stated before, the Supreme Lord can be appreciated only by devotional

service. Therefore, one should be fully devoted. One should fix his mind

fully on Klnëa in order to achieve Him. One should work only for Krishna. It

does not matter in what kind of work one engages, but that work should be

done only for Krishna. That is the standard of devotional service. The

devotee does not desire any achievement other than pleasing the Supreme

Personality of Godhead. His life's mission is to please Krishna, and he can

sacrifice everything for Krishna's satisfaction, just as Arjuna did in the

Battle of Kurukshetra. The process is very simple: one can devote himself in

his occupation and engage at the same time in chanting Hare Krishna, Hare

Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare/ Hare Raama, Hare Raama, Raama Raama,

Hare Hare. Such transcendental chanting attracts the devotee to the

Personality of Godhead.

So it is very simple: those who give up sinful habits (I'm sure you know

what is meant here) and engane themselves in Lord Krishna's service without

deviaton are eligible for Moskha. Now tell me please how many people around

you you know to be like that?

Yours,
