I know of another rule to predict childbirth looking at transits, which is

unlike this one, a little less general. Jupiter during transit should form

a link with the lagna lord and the dispositors of Sun and Moon of the

parents by conjunction, aspect etc... Taking this for both the parents

there is much less generality as the rule given here by Rao. Still, I

haven't tested it yet so much in regard to prediction, though it looks

right in all cases I have examined.

 

So one should certainly not rely on one rule alone and should see the full

picture before doing any prediction. As Sanjay writes, the learned

astrologer will draw the Saptamsa Narayana dasha in order to verify his

prediction in regard to childbirth.
