Hello,

I just calculated my chart, and noticed that I am currently in the Jupiter Dasa.

I believe that Jupiter is afflicted in my chart because it is Retrograde in the

second house, and opposite the Sun in the eigth house.

here is my chart :

(if chart.gif doesn't show please see attachment).

What would be the proper gemstone(s) for me to wear during this period, and also

maybe which mantra ?

Namaste

Serena

:) :)

Dear Rajinder,

Your sense of humour is refreshing thing in these days of

frsutrations and recession etc., when you say" jupitor in second

retro it is like a travller who want to go some destination

and has lost the ticket for fly " (ofcourse your humour is very

harmless compared to Rampriya's humourously stunning email on taking

care of brothers by stabbings etc., )...By the way, I also have

Retrograde Jupiter in 12th house, which is also debiliated and has

NeechBhanga yoga also. During entire Jupiter dasa(16 years) I faced

hardships but managed to survive or emerge victorious each time (to

some extent), under adverse circumstances. So retrograde Jupiter

might have caused the traveller to loose the ticket, but I think the

traveller will find the ticket ultimately somehow and proceed towards

the designated destination ultimately(I mean it may take several

months/years to achieve the objectives but they are achieved

somehow). All the best.. rajesh kumaria.

dear rajseh,

well rajesh you are right person with retro jupitor

may have a strong will and he will make it what he

wants particularly jupitor in secon home as one

book i read bhishm pitameh has jupitor in capricorn in

second home we all know the story of mahbarat.

he denied his guru cammand when he said to his guru

whwn advised to get married with he women he brougt

after winning war with her lover she was rejected

from her lover too.bhisma said to the guru guru and

and my words" promise "both dear to me but i will keep

my oath at the supreme.

and we know finally this women was cause of his death

as she was given power by bhisma guru

to be ccause of his death and he wount fight with a

female though she was reborn as a male in

the presnt -

so when i tried to use gem topaz

it gave me lot of weight gain and illhealth

i was suggested by

one of guru to seek more sun or atma karka

benefit

and every thing will be put to proper

prospective

anyway igive my self self suggetion never take

anything seriously including astrology

as anything is to happen will happen

so why worry

regards

you comment were always appericiated

i love it if it could have touch of humour than

seriousness

Thanks for the answers and the URL link, i shall definitely get the books.

If i am currently running the Libra ND and Saggitarius ND Antardasa how do i

predict the events? It looks similar to Venus MD and Jupiter AD under

Vimshottari dasa system.

You had mentioned that my 7th is stronger. does it mean 7 th house is the

strongest of all or is it due to presence of Saturn 7th becomes stronger?

Thanks!

Prakash Narayanan.

Thank you for clearing cobwebs for me. The last time I attempted to help on 7

Your 7th is stronger: Progressions Ta, Ge, Cn, Le, Vi, Li, Sc, Sg, Cp, Aq, Pi, Ar

Guru-Mangala as Ge with Mars has direct aspect with Jupiter. Try and do your

Swee: Basically,

we find the strengths always between the 1st and the 7th in

Rasi Dasa. If there were say 2 planets in Scorpio and on planet in Taurus, then

Scorpio will become the initializing sign called the “seed dasa”. Saturn and

Ketu’s presence in any seed sign/dasa changes the movement. In your case,

Saturn is present in Taurus and that changes the movement as a continuous

movement.

Dear Swee,

Excellent suggestion. I also back Wednesday for fasts. Donation of silk cloth or

money to brahmins on Thursdays in the Hora of Jupiter may be added.

Dear Serena,

What would be the proper gemstone(s) for me to wear during this period

Paparadscha – Sapphire with slight tinge of red-yellow-orange colours on the

right ring finger. Try and find one that does not border too much on the

reddish hue. Sun is yogada and is best friends with Jupiter giving Rajayoga:

Both are kendra and trine lords.Normally with UL in Pisces, fasting is

recommended for Thursdays. But, in this case, your Virgo ND is running, and

Mercury is in badhak sthana with debilitated lord. Wednesday maybe the more

pertinent choice. (What do the Gurus say with this suggestion??)

Namaste

Thanks for your answers. I have ordered the books and i am expecting them next

week. You had mentioned that Mars is my Maha Yogada..Does that mean that the

periods of Mars both in Vimshottari as well as the Scorpio and Aries ND should

prove lucky for me.? Please clarify.

Thanks!

Dear Prakash,

Dear Swee,

Thanks for the answers and the URL link, i shall definitely get the books.

If i am currently running the Libra ND and Sagittarius ND Antardasa how do i

predict the events? It looks similar to Venus MD and Jupiter AD under

Vimshottari dasa system. Also, try and browse through the site for other

lessons.

Swee: You’ll be able to get a wealth of information and knowledge from both the

books as well as to interpret charts. It is also better to collate at least two

Dasa systems into your readings to get a more lucid picture of what is

happening. Mahadasa will always indicate the general trends and antardasa will

always indicate the current and more pertinent events.Looking at your events

pertaining to Libra, the general trend indicates 12th house indicators, with

rasi drishti on all the kendras. Read this from lordships and graha placements.

With it in the 8th with A5 during the antardasa of Gemini zooms in on events

pertaining to obstacles, enmity (through elders and friends), losses (A5, +

child) as it is 6th from AL etc. Perhaps even success after someone else’s loss

due to vipareeta rajayoga (there is exchange of planets between Mercury and

Mars). You also have Guru-Mangala as Ge with Mars has direct aspect with

Jupiter. Try and do your own interpretations without prejudice J Currently, it

is Li/Aq until May 2003. Then Pisces, Aries, and Taurus ends the Libra maha

rasi dasa. 2005 shows Scorpio to run until 2012. The sign Gemini has HL with

Mars in it. So I reckon Mars should be your maha yogada, linking your

ascendant, HL and GL.

You had mentioned that my 7th is stronger. does it mean 7th house is the

strongest of all or is it due to presence of Saturn 7th becomes stronger?

Swee: Basically, we find the strengths always between the 1st and the 7th in

Rasi Dasa. If there were say 2 planets in Scorpio and on planet in Taurus, then

Scorpio will become the initializing sign called the “seed dasa”. Saturn and

Ketu’s presence in any seed sign/dasa changes the movement. In your case,

Saturn is present in Taurus and that changes the movement as a continuous

movement.

Thanks!

You’re welcome.

Dear Swee & other Narayana Dasa experts,

I saw your reply to serena based on Narayanan dasa. Can you please tell me the

specific purpose of using Narayana Dasa to predict events? Also, can you please

let me know how to apply Narayana dasa to the attached chart? I am currently

running Venus-Jupiter under Vimsottari dasa.

Thanks!

Prakash Narayanan.

Thank you for clearing cobwebs for me. The last time I attempted to help on 7

charts was with someone in December J

Your 7th is stronger: Progressions Ta, Ge, Cn, Le, Vi, Li, Sc, Sg, Cp, Aq, Pi, Ar

Count from sign to the planet in the regular order (Saturn in Ta; using Saturn

exception) less one year. Sun is exalted, add one year. Debilitated planets,

less one year more. Jupiter in own sign 1-1=0 = 12 years

Ta: 1 Ge: 10 Cn:5 Le: 5 Vi:6 Li:8 etc Currently in Li ND

Antardasa: eg for Sg, each sub will be 12 months.

For D10, take 10th house, Leo. Leo is stronger. So begin from Leo with every 6th

progression (fixed sign).

So Le, Cp, Ge, Sc, Ar, Vi, Aq, Cn, Sg, Ta, Li, Pi.

Counting: Ar= Odd footed Forward Direction

Ta= Odd Footed Forward Direction

Ge= Odd -> Forward

Cn= Even= Backward

Le= Even = Backward

Vi= Even= Backward

Li= Odd

Sc= Odd

Sg= Odd

Cp=Even

Aq=Even

Pi=Even

Extensive lessons can be had from Narasimhas book Vedic Astrology: An

Do you mean to say that is only during the MD of Mars under vimshottari dasa

scheme? Does it not work during the Scorpio and Aries Narayana Dasas?

Thanks!

Prakash.

Dear Prashant,

I addition, not to be missed, order Narasimha’s Narayan Dasa CD from the same site.

Activation usually is when the mahadasa of Mars comes in. (6 months before the

time, you will find the positive effects). Yes, to a lesser extent, the subs.

Best wishes,

Dear Swee,

Thanks for your answers. I have ordered the books and i am expecting them next

week. You had mentioned that Mars is my Maha Yogada..Does that mean that the

periods of Mars both in Vimshottari as well as the Scorpio and Aries ND should

prove lucky for me.? Please clarify.

Thanks!

Thanks for the answers and the URL link, i shall definitely get the books.

If i am currently running the Libra ND and Sagittarius ND Antardasa how do i

predict the events? It looks similar to Venus MD and Jupiter AD under

Vimshottari dasa system. Also, try and browse through the site for other

lessons.

Swee: Youll be able to get a wealth of information and knowledge from both the

books as well as to interpret charts.

Perhaps even success after someone elses loss

due to vipareeta rajayoga (there is exchange of planets between Mercury and

Mars i! n it.

Scorpio will become the initializing sign called the seed dasa. Saturn and

Ketus presence in any seed sign/dasa changes the movement. In your case,

Saturn is present in Taurus and that changes the movement as a continuous

movement.

Thanks!

Youre welcome.

Dear Prakash,

Dear Swee & other Narayana Dasa experts,

I saw your reply to serena based on Narayanan dasa. Can you please tell me the

specific purpose of using Narayana Dasa to predict events? Also, can you please

let me know how to apply Narayana dasa to the attached chart? I am currently

running Venus-Jupiter under Vimsottari dasa.

Thanks!

Prakash Narayanan.

Thank you for clearing cobwebs for me. The last time I attempted to help on 7

charts was with someone in December J

Your 7th is stronger: Progressions Ta, Ge, Cn, Le, Vi, Li, Sc, Sg, Cp, Aq, Pi, Ar

Count from sign to the planet in the regular order (Saturn in Ta; using Saturn

exception) less one year. Sun is exalted, add one year. Debilitated planets,

less one year more. Jupiter in own sign 1-1=0 = 12 years

Ta: 1 Ge: 10 Cn:5 Le: 5 Vi:6 Li:8 etc Currently in Li ND

Antardasa: eg for Sg, each sub will be 12 months.

For D10, take 10th house, Leo. Leo is stronger. So begin from Leo with every 6th

progression (fixed sign).

So Le, Cp, Ge, Sc, Ar, Vi, Aq, Cn, Sg, Ta, Li, Pi.

Counting: Ar= Odd footed Forward Direction

Ta= Odd Footed Forward Direction

Ge= Odd -> Forward

Cn= Even= Backward

Le= Even = Backward

Vi= Even= Backward

Li= Odd

Sc= Odd

Sg= Odd

Cp=Even

Aq=Even

Pi=Even

Extensive lessons can be had from Narasimhas book Vedic Astrology: An

Integrated Approach. (Dont go home without!)

Sanjay Rath has a book solely based on Narayan Dasa . Purchase both:

Dear Swee,

Do you mean to say that is only during the

MD of Mars under vimshottari dasa scheme? Does it not work during the Scorpio

and Aries Narayana Dasas?

Thanks!

Om Namo Narayanaya,

Dear Gauranga,

Why wednesday when Sanjay is clear about fasting on Upapada Lord's days

and praying to the devata of the 2nd house from Upapad.

Further, Guru holds debilitation sign of Budha, so is capable of

removing his blemish..

I have seen miraculous results with upapada days fast.

Kindly explain.

Best wishes

Zoran

Thanks for the answers. I talked about Mars and the Rasi dasas because i thought

Aries and Scorpio rasi dasas are also lorded by Mars hence their periods will

give good results .. Mars being a Maha Yogada.

I assume AV means Ashtavarga.

Question:

The Narayana Dasas should be seen from the D1 chart or from the specific D charts? Please clarify.

Thanks!

Dear Prakash,

Let’s go one thing at a time. Your Q was on Mars and not the rasi. So this

indicates vimsottari dasa.

For Narayan Dasa and Scorpio to begin in 2005, there is rasi drishti from

Scorpio to the 3rd, 6th and 9th The 6th indicates vipareeta rajayoga. Success

after a struggle on count of other’s losses.

As for Aries ND, rasi drishti is from Aries to the Asc, 4th and 10th

Remember, I said Ju and Mars creates the rajayoga? Then look to during their

periods of say Sagittarius and sub of Gemini, 2012. Inheritance? Well, AV does

not promise this.

Dear Swee,

Do you mean to say that is only during the MD of Mars under vimshottari dasa

Thanks!

Thanks for your answers. I have ordered the books and i am expecting them next

prove lucky for me.? Please clarify.

Also, try and browse through the site for other

lessons.

Swee: Youll be able to get a wealth of information and knowledge from both the

books as well as to interpret charts.

Perhaps even success after someone elses loss

due to vipareeta rajayoga (there is exchange of planets between Mercury and

Mars i! n it.

Scorpio will become the initializing sign called the seed dasa. Saturn and

Ketus presence in any seed sign/dasa changes the movement. In your case,

Saturn is present in Taurus and that changes the movement as a continuous

movement.

Thanks!

Youre welcome.

Dear Swee & other Narayana Dasa experts,

I saw your reply to serena based on Narayanan dasa. Can you please tell me the

specific purpose of using Narayana Dasa to predict events? Also, can you please

let me know how to apply Narayana dasa to the attached chart? I am currently

running Venus-Jupiter under Vimsottari dasa.

Thanks!

Prakash Narayanan.

Thank you for clearing cobwebs for me. The last time I attempted to help on 7

charts was with someone in December J

Your 7th is stronger: Progressions Ta, Ge, Cn, Le, Vi, Li, Sc, Sg, Cp, Aq, Pi, Ar

Count from sign to the planet in the regular order (Saturn in Ta; using Saturn

exception) less one year. Sun is exalted, add one year. Debilitated planets,

less one year more. Jupiter in own sign 1-1=0 = 12 years

Ta: 1 Ge: 10 Cn:5 Le: 5 Vi:6 Li:8 etc Currently in Li ND

Antardasa: eg for Sg, each sub will be 12 months.

For D10, take 10th house, Leo. Leo is stronger. So begin from Leo with every 6th

progression (fixed sign).

So Le, Cp, Ge, Sc, Ar, Vi, Aq, Cn, Sg, Ta, Li, Pi.

Counting: Ar= Odd footed Forward Direction

Ta= Odd Footed Forward Direction

Ge= Odd -> Forward

Cn= Even= Backward

Le= Even = Backward

Vi= Even= Backward

Li= Odd

Sc= Odd

Sg= Odd

Cp=Even

Aq=Even

Pi=Even

Extensive lessons can be had from Narasimhas book Vedic Astrology: An

RE: [vedic astrology] Information on Jupiter Dasa

JAYA JAGANNATHA!

Dear Gauranga Das,

Dear Swee,

Excellent suggestion. I also back Wednesday for fasts. Donation of silk cloth or

money to brahmins on Thursdays in the Hora of Jupiter may be added.

I notice you’ve chose silk cloth while I was going to opt for donation of 1 tola

of Gold (Sun 6th from AL and 8th from lagna; indicates past debt) and it being

in Pisces would be better to give to Guru/Preceptor (Sun is PiK and Jupiter is

PK). This might solve the problems for PK as well, being the 5th lord. (Sun in

5th in Navamsa, and its dispositor is in Taurus ascendant with Gulika) Feasting

of Brahmins to be given instead.

Well, if he has 1 tola of gold, then of course he can donate this. Donation to

Guru is good upaya for Bhratrikaraka. Pik would mean father or boss or king.

Putrakarak is children, disciples or followers but NOT subordinates like

employees, because this is 6th house (servants).

Feasting is an excellent option in case of any blemishes in the chart. Maharishi

Parashara recommends this above all.

Hello,

I just calculated my chart, and noticed that I am currently in the Jupiter Dasa.

I believe that Jupiter is afflicted in my chart because it is Retrograde in the

second house, and opposite the Sun in the eigth house.

here is my chart :

What would be the proper gemstone(s) for me to wear during this period, and also

maybe which mantra ?

Yes,

ashtakavarga. VA: an Integrated Approach teaches you that too. (and lots of

goodies in there ++).

Question:

The Narayana Dasas should be seen from the

D1 chart or from the specific D charts? Please clarify.

Look at

the earlier mail where I had indicated how you can calculate the ND of D-10.

Take 10th house from Rasi and look at D-10. Find its lord. Then take

the rasi occupied by him in the D chart as lagna and find Narayana dasa of the

D chart just as if it were a rasi chart. In your case, begin with Sg.

Progression go backwards with Vishnu’s movement 1,5, 9, 10, 2, 6: Sg, Le, Ar,

Pi, Sc, Cn, Ge, Aq etc. Like that,

you can time from different D-charts accordingly. After initial assessment of

strength of planets, then interpret as you would by applying the rules for Rasi

chart with Arudhas and Badhak for each Varga you endeavour.

For

Sudasa or Sri Lagna Kendradi Rasi Dasa (Lakshmi’s blessings, the calculations

are different). Wait for your books

Dear Gauranga,

I know feasting is an excellent option. But did you really mean it????

Ramapriya

....[snip]

Feasting is an excellent option in case of any blemishes in the chart. Maharishi

Parashara recommends this above all.

JAYA JAGANNATHA!

Dear Zoran,

Namaste.

I was giving an overall Upaya, not specifically just for marriage. In my

views propitiation of Mercury in this way is more important. We took care of

Jupiter in other ways.

Re: [vedic astrology] Information on Jupiter Dasa

Om Namo Narayanaya,

Dear Gauranga,

Why wednesday when Sanjay is clear about fasting on Upapada Lord's days

and praying to the devata of the 2nd house from Upapad.

Further, Guru holds debilitation sign of Budha, so is capable of

removing his blemish..

I have seen miraculous results with upapada days fast.

Kindly explain.

Best wishes

Zoran
