Guest guest
Sydney has just had its popular protest to the seemingly imminent bombing of Iraq. About half a million people turned out in Sydney alone to express their opposition to the government's kowtowing to US/ UK warmongering. Not too shabby for a city of about four and a half million, that sprawls across a vast land area. The centre of the city became impassible to traffic as people filled the streets. Simultaneously, protest marches also occurred in several other Australian cities. These follow yet more protests held in Canberra and Melbourne over the last couple of days. These gatherings have united people from diverse cultures, faiths, political beliefs and age groups. Hope lives.
