Guest guest
Dear friends and gurus, While reading Jaminisutras on a website I found that the associations of atmakarkas with different Navamsa signs was described in three different ways, as highlighted by underlines below. SU. 5.-Dure jalakushtadih. If the Atmakaraka occupies Kataka Navamsa, dangers and troubles come from watery places andleprosy.SU. 6.-Seshaha swapadani. If the Atamakaraka joins Simha Navamsa, troubleswill come through dogs and such canineanimals.SU. 7.-Mrithyuvajjayagnikanascha.If Atmakaraka is in Kanya Navamsa, the nativewill suffer from fire, itches, and corpulence. I am not fully clear about the difference in the three. I shall appreciate if someone can clarify the same to me. Guest guest
Dear Ramesh, Writers often tire, as do their readers, of the same set of terms being repeated ad nauseam in a script. Imho, all the three underlined terms mean the same -- or at least the author intended them to be so. Warm regards, Ramapriya hubli (AT) vsnl (DOT) com - Ramesh F. Guest guest
Dear Ramesh, that is just the inconsistency of the translator, here is an excerpt from the translation I am working one: 1.2.5. Duure jalakushthaadi. duure- (4) far away, distant, remote, a long way off. jala- water, frigidity- mental, moral or physical. kushtha- leprosy, a sort of poison. aadi- etc.In Kataka- distant places, water/frigidity, leprosy, etc. 1.2.6. Seshaah svaapadaani. Seshaah- (5) that which remains or is left, all the others, end, result, death, destruction. swaapadaani- something at its own place or position, beasts of prey, wild beasts, tigers. Simha- large wild beasts, and remaining in one's own position. 1.2.7. Mrityuvajjaayaagnikanasca. Mrityu- (3). vat- like, resembling. jaayaa- (6). agnikana- fire particle, a spark, or small fire. ca- and. Kanya- like Mithuna, as well as small fire. This is a very literal translation, so you see all the other words in other translations are added by the translators. The words danger, trouble, suffer are actually not even mentioned in the sutras.
